After 10,000 years of space travelling, self-discovery and a copious amount of sandwiches for lunch, Tony has finally completed page 39 of Houngan meets MorganI am a dummy!

Yeah... no kidding, I got the time to work around this page for past the 2-3 weeks. Sorry for a long, long, long, long delay... but hey, that's life, y'know. Plus I had a major art block this year... it felt like I lost all my creative juice and just didn't practice much. It was a heavy year for me, but rest assured, I'll do my best to stop getting stuck up and do something creative no matter what the circumstances are. :stayawake:

Hey, an action scene! This is really well-done and I can just feel the energy of this scene. :D

The new shading is nice as well. It really helps make your characters pop out from the background. Keep it up, man!

You know, I'm hooked on this. I hope it actually finishes, and I quite like the OCs. Usually I'm not very interested in aspects like that, it adds a certain touch to this in particular.

Not only that, but with the improvement of art style from both collaborators, it'll surely be a treat!

Also, I wonder if you two are aware of Houngan's description:
taffy-the-candyman.tumblr.com/…

It certainly makes Houngan's motives fit into place here! Though, if you two already did know, then props to both of you. :)

I'm glad you like it so far! :) Oh yes, we will definitely finish this collab one day... it's just things have been really slow on my part. ^^;

Yes indeed, I wanted to try something different. Doesn't the black & white pop out more? :D

Ahhhh a review of ClayFighter 63 1/3 in a magazine!? *instant reblog* .w.

I'm sure we missed plenty of little details, but we tried our best to do a lot of research on Houngan in particular before we started the comic itself, because he's the main focus of the story. Plus the fact that Sammie and I created those FCs from scratch, and they just feel right at home in the ClayFighter universe. Don't you think? ^^

Yes, the grays pop out and make things more viewable. Makes it easier to see what's happening, too.

In fact, I think Thornetta is a great counter for Morgan - Morgan is mute, but Thornetta never seems to shut up; at least, in Cyborai Jack's perspective. Not only that, but I'm also liking the fact that most of the OCs used here (Actually FCs since they're by fans and not official, oops) are female. God, there're so few female ClayFighters that it hurts. Maybe it's a ClayFighter thing, where the gender is primarily male.

Yeah, details like that are few and far in between, as well as very hard to find. It's luck that I find these things, or others find them and pass it on. I was rather happy that Icky's mentions Halloween, rather surprised that it mentions Houngan "wanting a mate to follow him to the halls of HELL", but cried from laughter from the writers describing Taffy as a "melted yellow shopping bag".
Follow Taffy on Tumblr I made it forever ago Oops self advertisement

I'm still way too excited for any news concerning Remastered, but at least there's something there to keep occupied!

(I really need to finish writing. It's been too long. Maybe someday I'll write something actually FUNNY instead of dark drama and feels.)

Glad you like it! Trying this technique was indeed worth it. ^^

Who knew these two Clay Fighter women could have such rivarly... catfights could be a thing in the Clay Fighter universe is suppose. =P

Yeah that review page you found on Tumblr is quite nice to look at in detail (especially the models of the characters). :)
...and the text describing some of the characters stories as foreseen on the ClayFighter Wikia (also a nice touch).

Although Taffy might look like a "melted yellow shopping bag", he still is quite an edible fighter. lol x3

Can't wait for the remaster as well... I mean, it's been almost 20 years since the last game (which is still fun! Btw I was testing the move list of Bad Mr. Frosty to see if the moves actually work and for the most part they do. Although I don't understand how to correctly perform the 'insane combos' and 'enders'... either way, still fun to play).

I think it's fair to say that I fangasmed at all the detail. This is the kind of detail you wouldn't be able to see in the actual game, with the late 90's jpeg artifacts. I especially liked the level of detail on Houngan's mask and Icky's arms, not to mention Frosty's whole texture - you could tell it's snow, you could tell it's wooden claws. The level of detail is amazing, but only a shame we didn't get to see it truly shimmer in it's gaming counterpart.

With today's tech, however, that will very well change.

Not quite close to 20 years as Sculptor's Cut was published in 1998. If anything, it's been almost 10, just about three years shy. But if going by since the first game ever released (1993), it's been over two decades!

As for Frosty's insanes and Claytalities, it depends on where you are. Some of them require you to be in "sweep" range, while others need you to be right next to them. The insanes have an extra requirement though: The opponent must also be at very low health. It's like an overkill - Clay style.
