She made her debut in Sugar Rush when the game has gotten a new update, with new racers and a new area: Big Fizzy City. Big Fizzy City is a modern concept of New York City, compare to the residence of Sugarland (name of the location that is held in Sugar Rush). The city is based on various American sweets and other candy concepts from across the globe. Carla was one of the new racers and is great friends with Vanellope.
