A Normal Life?
The sterile white walls of the lab pressed in on Power Girl, amplifying the claustrophobia she felt. The constant hum of machinery throbbed in her ears, a relentless reminder of her captivity. The straps that held her down felt like a physical manifestation of the powerlessness that was slowly draining from her.
A cold sweat broke out on her skin, a stark contrast to the usual warmth that pulsed through her whenever she was about to unleash her strength. The silver headband, with its network of wires, felt like a crown of thorns pressing against her forehead, stealing away her thoughts, her very sense of self. But it wasn’t just the headband. "More Than Skin Deep"
"The easiest face to repair is the one in the mirror. The hardest is the one people believe they deserve."
Opening
The ninth issue opens in an operating room.
A young woman badly injured in a devastating apartment explosion lies unconscious on the table. Her face has been shattered by flying glass.

The surgery succeeds.
Weeks later, when the patient finally removes her bandages, she begins crying.
Not because she looks exactly as she did before.
Because she recognizes herself again.
Ralph gently tells her:

But then one person left a comment—"HamsHallen."
Thank you. Truly, thank you. That kind of thing is motivating. But there were other reasons, too. For one thing, I like Laura Schnee’s photo series. Maybe I should recruit her, but as far as I know, she’s currently on other planets. So that’s probably a no-go. For another, I needed to train myself. Because of last time. In *Alex #3*, I wrote about how I... gave in to my feelings regarding Blogger. That can't happen. I have to be a role model for them and show that I’m the one with the power. Sounds almost like a Jedi—that’s what Blogger would say. But she’s right.
So, today is about Ashley.
I hope people still remember her?
A quick reminder: In Raven’s post, we saw what she went through. How she caused a small-scale mass murder with her powers. I
