The popping, the crackling, fizzing, the shrill screeches, the booming; a symphony of fire and freedom rings across the sky. Down in a park in Portland a display is going off accompanied by all manner of music, ranging from classical and patriotic to rock music. Ame Warashi, plugging her ears, trying everything to dampen the loud noises of the fireworks and music playing. “How do you Americans not go deaf with all this racket!?” The annoyed rain sprite loudly announces her irritation. He is still processing just what Fushigi even is. “Kind of explains the accent that I’ve always wondered about.” Sitting next to August’s sides were Yuuko on one side of him at the bar table and Fushigi on the other. Yuuko is all smiles, seeing August’s surprise written upon his face as she has a glass of tequila in hand. “There’s so much you don’t know about me it wouldn’t even be good enough to explain in one session.” Fushigi states as he drinks his hard cider. “I think she told you what she is already, didn’t she?” August looks at Yuuko as she nods at him. He looks back to Fushigi nodding in understanding. “So, in that case, you’re quite literally not from here is what you’re saying?” August suggests as he slowly points down to the ground to emphasize his statement.
