so, i am going to do something mildly crazy... or more appropriately, considering the nature of what i am doing... Loco.
I will be giving up a high paying 8:30 to 5:00 job and travelling to south america for a year.
I am a bit nervous about it but this is completely overshadowed by excitement as i have never done anything like this before. The current plan is to live in Colombia, most likely in the capitol of Bogota, though i would much prefer a coastal city like Cartagena or Santa Marta due to my love of the ocean and scuba diving. I have been quite quiet on here lately as i have been excursively diving rebreather, usually without a camera and as such have had no new pics or videos.
Loving the rebreather diving, easily two hour duration dives with warm breathing air no noise and no bubbles (unless you are ascending)
Had a short trip with some friends down to South West Rocks and Coffs Harbour to dive the rebreathers, will add the video when i have finished editing.
I need another 40 hours before i am eligible to do normoxic trimix on the unit, once done, we can start looking for those shipwreaks off the coast again.
It is now 4 days until i see and dive with my new baby (the rebreather) yes i know i am strange :D.
Sadly i won't be able to take the video camera as the course is more full on than any other dive course i have ever done from what i am told. think i will take the little G10 though, maybe i can shoot off a few pics if i get time.
Have been thinking of late to take some formal training in video camera operation, cinematography and editing, might be a bit easier than the self taught approach i have been using thus far. Sadly none of these courses contain the area i am most interested in, i.e underwater cinematography.
