Description

Chatsworth House, uk. I can't image anyone using this image as stock, but I couldn't restrain myself from sharing what I think is one of the greatest pieces of sculpture ever done. The marble has been carved to give the impression of the woman wearing a transparent veil. Just brilliant. If you think it seems very familiar, it may be because it featured prominently in a scene of the latest Pride and Prejudice film.

With the delicate thin veils Monti was known for you can see why they believed at the time that he performed some sort of alchemy to turn fabric into marble. And yes, I can see this being used as a scene prop in a manipulation.
