I've been considering buying a subscription to dA for a little while now.  I like the idea of being able to see more thumbnails at once in searches, and being able to post features of artists that really grab my attention.

On the other hand, these are bells and whistles that I've managed to function without for the better part of a year, and there's really nothing in the subscription package that I'd just die without.

Time will tell.

I like the sample month I got, but I don't think I'd pay for it. If I were planning on going professional I'd definitely get one, though. It makes for a much nicer looking gallery.

I was reluctant to buy a subscription myself. Then another (very kind) dAer made my decision for me by buying me a subcription for a short period of time and I found that I enjoyed it a lot.

It's nothing that you can't live without, that's for sure, but I liked it enough to buy another year's worth once my original subscription expired.

You might want to give it a try just for a month or two and see how you like it.
