Thanks to , I found out about a con that's in my own backyard, so we're going to mosey over there today. We went to it a few years ago when it was pretty small, and I proceeded to forget it even existed. *facepalm* Guess I'll find out how much it's grown!
ETA: Dude, that was such fun! The costume panels were already done the day before, so I don't know how good they were - they looked good, at any rate. We went to a Steampunk discussion that had a lot of thoughtful commentary and a cosplay photography presentation that was really informative. I also got to wear Rorschach again (woohoo!) and I won a hall costume award (WOOHOO! ^^) I really do like that it's possible to "compete" with a cosplay without going through the whole process of trooping up onto a stage and having to perform. We did it at C2E2, but it's definitely not my preferred medium! Plus, I like getting to see others' costumes close up.
If I can get my act together, I'd like to do an Artist Alley table for next year. They allow fanart, so it should work - provided I come up with enough stuff. (What, me, procrastinate?? )
