I've been spoiled having the "Preview" function on dA posts.   The latest glitch has made it necessary for me to either accurately visualize the code I'm entering (assuming I don't eliminate it altogether), or to be at peace with any goofy errors I might be posting.   'S a bit unsettling.   :O_o:

So, in my searches for V for Vendetta artwork (because that's one of the few searches I do on a regular basis...) I've noticed something:

I will often see artwork show up in my devWatch list that *doesn't* show up in an overall search (I use the "max_age:3w" filter to see what's newest).  The only ones that *do* show up are the ones that have some variant of "V" or "Vendetta" in their titles.

So I'm wondering - are people just not using the Keyword function when they submit a deviation?  It seems a silly (and somewhat tragic) reason for a person to not receive traffic to their work...

:-?

I see I just hit 2000 pageviews.   I *had* intended to draw something for the occasion, but I was obviously a bit slow.

Ah, well.

More importantly, many, *many* thanks to everyone who's dropped by, looked around, favorited, friended, everything.    I appreciate it!  :-)

This is the little corner of the Universe I've staked out for my illustrations of :iconpeahopeless:peahopeless's writings. They began as a hobby to give myself something to do when Real Life(tm) isn't eating up my time, but they grew into something much more substantial.

I work primarily with pastel pencils on charcoal paper, occasionally with No. 2 pencil on sketch paper, and when I'm feeling especially masochistic I delve into ink using the most ghetto-fabulous method at hand to remind myself why I don't work with ink. I touch up and add lighting effects to my work in Photoshop, and the day dA offers a category covering Traditional Art with Digital elements, I shall celebrate.

Almost all of my work comes directly from or is inspired by a specific story, and in some cases won't make complete sense if viewed without that context. As such, it's a good idea to read the Artist's Comments section. (Of course, if you're the type of person who enjoys a mystery, more power to you. ;-) ) Also, if you like a particular illustration, I very highly recommend reading the story associated with it. The image wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for the inspiration. :-)

And now, on with the motley...

Twenty-five questions:

1. Do you like animals?
As companions, aesthetically, or with ketchup?

2. Have you ever met an online friend in person?
Yes.  Several, all at once.  It was much fun.  :D

3.Are you athletic?
Not anymore, alas.

4. Are you: thin, fat, athletically built etc:
Judging by my eternal difficulty finding jeans in my size, I'd have to say I'm "average".

5. How much do you weigh?
About seven pounds more than I'd like.

6. What's your height?
5' - 5.75" (1.67m)

7. Shoe size?
8ish womens 6 1/2 mens

8. Girls - are you tomboyish, girly, normal, etc?
"Normal"?  :-?  ..."Normal"..... *wanders off to find a dictionary*

9. Guys- are you macho, Metro, or meek?
Nice alliteration...

10. How old are you?
As old as I am.

11. When is your birthday?
When I was born.

12. Do you like to receive giftart?
I've no idea.

13. Are you sociable?
Getting better at it... the leash-training seems to have helped.

14. Do you have many friends?
Yes, although I've a distressing habit of misplacing them.

15. What's your race?
Franxicansparish.

16. Do you like to talk on the phone?
Not extensively, no.

17. Are you single or taken?
Quite taken.  :D

Frequently.

19. Are you paranoid?
It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

20. Do you read a lot?
Voraciously.

21. Do you listen to music, what kind?
Yes, and "strange" seems to be the consensus.

22. Do you play any instruments?
Years ago I could honestly say that "percussion instruments are my specialty".

23. How long have you been drawing?
Years.  With big gaps interspersed.

24. What's the meaning of life?
Oh, sure - I tell you, then you tell someone else, and they spread it around, and then where will we be?

25. Now tag five of your friends! They MUST take this quiz and post it in their journal!
Mmm... no.  I'll leave it to free will.

(Author's note:  I'm returning to my "default" journal entry, as I don't plan on updating my dA journal often at all.)

I appreciate comments, although I will readily admit that my communication habits are less than ideal. My time is often monopolized by work or other pursuits, so if I don't respond, please accept my apologies. It's not personal and I truly appreciate it when someone takes the time to comment.

A bit about my gallery:

I highly recommend reading the Artist's Comments section.  All of my work comes directly from or is inspired by a specific story, and in some cases won't make complete sense if viewed without that context.  (Of course, if you're the type of person who enjoys a mystery, more power to you.  ;-) )  Also, if you like a particular illustration, I very highly recommend reading the story associated with it.   The image wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for the inspiration.  :-)

And a bit about myself:

The primary reason I have a dA gallery is to house my illustrations of :iconpeahopeless:peahopeless' writings.   They began as a hobby to give myself something to do when Real Life(tm) isn't eating up my time, but they grew into something much more substantial.

For anyone interested in such things, I work primarily with pastel pencils on charcoal paper, occasionally with No. 2 pencil on sketch paper, and when I'm feeling especially masochistic I delve into ink using the most ghetto-fabulous method at hand to remind myself why I don't work with ink.  I  touch up and add lighting effects to my work in Photoshop, and the day dA offers "Traditional Drawing: Mixed Media" as a Deviation Category, I shall celebrate.

  • Reading: fanfiction
  • Watching: time slip away at an alarming rate
  • Playing: "What's this button do?"
  • Drinking: decaf Earl Grey
