VfV Tarot - The Moon by FugueState VfV Tarot - The Moon by FugueState
Some time ago I got the (admittedly insane) idea to translate the universe of the film "V for Vendetta" into the Major Arcana of the Tarot.

I'm constructing the images from film screencaps - unfortunately, the filmmakers weren't considerate enough to shoot the exact images I want for this project, so photomanipulation is the only answer. ;P

At any rate, I plan to post my progress here as a way of keeping myself committed to do all 22 images. ^^;

It's good enough for me to begin to understand! The Tarot certainly is about the interconnectedness of all things and can be seen a highly mystical, so that much is clear! Besides: it is hard enough for ourselves sometimes to know exactly why we do things, let alone explain them to a complete stranger. You've done well, and I really like the way you've chosen your screen caps so far!

You're welcome. It's always good to encourage something like this - especially when the creator is as good as you are at this! ;)

Considering that you only have the screen caps to work with, you've done an amazing job so far! And it certainly makes for a different slant on the Major Arcana :)

Thank you - I've really been trying to make the images work as much as possible with the essence of each card. ^^; I'm hoping not to go too far afield with anything! :blush:

The ones I've seen are really good. I also love The Star - a very striking image. If you have any doubts, please feel free to ask. I've been a Tarot Reader for over 30 years now, so I know a little bit about it - and I mean 'a little bit', because it's such a huge subject... But chances are that I know more than you do, so if I can help, let me know!

Ah, marvellous - thank you! It's been very helpful having people who are familiar with the Tarot respond positively to my attempts and let me know I seem to be on the right track. :phew:

You're welcome! What I would like to know is that if you're not that familiar with the Tarot yourself, what was it that made you think of undertaking this project? It's not the first thing most people would think of! I think it's wonderful! :dance:

I'm working today, so I'll use your link later, when I get home. Thanks for looking it up for me - it's much appreciated!

I have some acquaintance with it (a bit more than "passing" acquaintance, but far from any kind of expertise) from years ago - I couldn't say exactly what initially got me interested in it. I think part of what may have struck me about trying to "translate" it into the Vendetta-verse is Alan Moore, the creator of the original story. His tales often include a highly mystical point of view, emphasizing the interconnectedness of things. I know I'm not explaining this terribly coherently, but that's at least part of where it comes from! ^^;
