Ok, having been staring at the sketch for days, and now equally
... just entirely stuck staring at this ... I have a pretty good
idea of the things I wanted to mention that specifically caught my
attention.

Besides the obvious, "Yes, dear God, amen!" ... ahem ...

At one point, Wednesday, you asked if it conveyed that he was
sleeping (despite the inanimate mask), just as your pic for "I'm
Still Here" conveyed that he was awake. I gave you an answer
then, and I'll say it again, and even more, becaue I've thought
about it even more.

In the pic for I'm Still Here, it was the fact that he was looking
at her, and his hand at her head, that said he was awake.
Here, it's the leg across hers, and the fact that he's not looking
at her face, that says he's asleep. While her hand, says she's
awake. (And shall I point out again that you pulled it off *YET*
again ... the same thing I said about that pic of V knifing the
the rebel in Futility ... *again*, you could, in theory, have used
another animate face to express emotion. You avoided the rebel's
face when you *could* have taken that luxury, and you *could* have
used Evey's face here if you'd really wanted to. And you didn't.
Do you see this? I keep seeing it. :D )

A couple other things ... the drape/fabric wringkles on the
blanket, and on his clothing is just amazing. I'll be eighty
years old, and never know how people know where to put those types
of lines.

Also, the place where his hair is divided by his shoulder. Seems
logical, I know, but that's the kind of detail nonartists wouldn't
necessary think of right away, and could easily miss while
attempting to draw.
And here's one for ya ... the little puff of his shirt just before
it goes into his trousers. I noticed it on the sketch already ...
something I know I never, in a million years, would have
even considered if trying to draw something like that.

:D

Goes back to staring, and gurgling, "Yes, dear God, amen!"

Gadzukes... ok, now it's my turn to struggle with coherence.

Re: the faces - Believe it or not, I'm actually finding it easier to use body language rather than facial expression to convey emotion (no matter what I might be howling as I'm drawing, lol). I think years of affinity for masked men is finally paying off. ;-)

Re: the fabric folds - I hereby offer up a resounding "Hallelujah!!!" for your comments. I know I still need practice, but they're at least not such a battle for me anymore.

And re: "drawing logic" - I have to give credit to all the comic book artists out there, without whom I would be utterly lost. (but I'm glad it's working!) :-)

And I should probably tack on that I note this is at least the second time you've been smacked *hard* in the face by the oddness. I mean really hard.

As I said before, I do know there's another artist working on something for the story, and next thing I know you drop this on my doorstep. And when you say that it was 'They' who told you to draw this, God as my witness, I believe you. I'm freaked myself, because I *have* to believe you. There's no other alternative. (Looks around, still in shock.) I mean logically, there just *is* no other alternative. This is at least the second time that you've gotten something directly from Them, while something else was going on elsewhere. Remember the "Yes You Do" pic?

And yeah, it does freak me ... just as much as the spider, marshmallow shooter, that chess mime, even the freakin violet at the church. There really *is* no other explanation, and that's about as freaky as it gets. (shiver)
