This is a personnal matte painting I did after the release of Star Wars 3 in DVD. I did'nt have a lot of time to do something really amazing in all details, I did it quickly in 2 evenings just before starting a new job. I wanted to practice a bit in Softimage XSI.

I heard during colonization efforts to Venus people may consider upper atmosphere cities. I bet a sulfuric acid mining community would have a beautiful sunset.

Very cool. I love the humor in it. :) The more I look at it, though, the more I see what you mean about having done it quickly. Great composition still, though.

Damn tourists are everywhere... mispronouncing "Chewbaka" and bumping into you when your light saber is out... :P

ok I get it it's a photo manipulation. You people can see the camera details clearly written on the right.... You should have placed it in photo manipulation category.
Anyways nice work.

Softimage XSI , thats an 3D environment editor isnt it ? But the image still looks like a photoshop painting. On the other hand this stunning realism, like the texture of the stones and the shadows remind of a 3D render ... :D Just amazing !
