Nintendo Headshots by fryguy64 Nintendo Headshots by fryguy64
8 Nintendo heroes drawn in the style I seem to have adopted recently (no idea where from) in an effort to make their designs consistent.

Top Row:
Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario

Bottom Row:
Mike Jones (Star Tropics), Takamaru (Nazo no Murasamejou), Sukapon (Joy Mecha Fight), Muddy (Mole Mania)

The bottom row are my unlikely hopefuls for Super Smash Bros. Brawl ;)

I really like the style you used on the Mario characters.

Mike Jones would be awesome for Brawl, especially if he looked like that!

Mario's mustache makes me laugh. In a good way. Kudos!

Why thank you! :D I love drawing it like that. It's a lot less plastic than his official tash ;)

Thought Takamaru was Zero Suit Samus at first

I liked Mike Jones and Muddy the best. They seem to have their personallities in tact

Still a big fan of your take on Nintendo characters. It's cartoonish, but grounded in reality - moreso than the official art. It's.....hard to explain, but good ;)

I know what you mean. For years I drew Mario characters as close to the official art as possible, but when I expanded into other characters I ended up struggling to find a style I liked. Now I have found one!

I like it because it reminds me of the old Mario games, like Donkey Kong and arcade Mario Bros. before he became "standardized" as a cutesy cartoon character.

Yes, he's too plastic at the mo in official art.

They all look so fantastic. It's a nice, kooky style. And I still dig Wario's more humanoid appearance. Kudos!

Nice sketches. They all look unique, and different then the way most people draw them.

I like the obscure characters you included. I remember Muddy Mole. :D

Thanks :)

Mole Mania is one of the best games on Game Boy. I'd love to see Muddy in Brawl, even if he's just an Assist Trophy ;)

Yeah, Muddy needs to return somehow.

Hah, I suck. I didn' recognise any of the bottom row and even though that the girl was an unmasked Samus!
They do look good though. I particularly dig Mario's rugged moustauche.

Takamaru's a dude ;) He's a samurai from edo-era Japan. Here's the game: [link]

Gee I sure do suck at genders today.

Oh, and one thing, I misjudge genders in real life too.

People don't look as distinguished nowadays. I could call a lady with short, male-ish hair a guy if she doesn't speak.

Not really. Especially when you start trying games like Fire Emblem 7 and wthng some anime of the sort of "I'm make but I look like female for some reason".

Mario feels like Dozla from FE8.

Strange but true! Though it's quite hard to draw a fat man with a moustache in many different ways ;)

Freaking awesome!

...Although, I almost thought Takamaru was Zero-Suit Samus. ^^;

You know, actually, your Mario sketch looks a lot like Captain Lou Albano, and the Luigi ketch looks SO MUCH, almost identical, to Danny Wells.

I didn't plan on it. Although that's probably why Luigi's chin just looked right ;)

Yeah, Luigi's chin really did the trick!

I realy like this in particular of all your other sketches; keep up the good work.

The Mario Bros. look great in that style. And Sukapon is sort of cute, just by looking at its face.
