Wuthering Heights

When I was about 12 years old, I found a book called "Wuthering Heights/Sturmhöhe" in my grandmother's well-stocked library.
I asked my grandmother what the story in the book was and she replied that it was a very sad and tragic story between two people who cannot find each other. The writer Emily Brontë, who wrote the book, only wrote this one book and died when she was about 30 years old.
Her book became a worldwide success and is one of the world literature and one of the books that you should have read.
I started reading the book and after the first three chapters, although the language in which it was written was quite difficult for me at the beginning, I was totally hooked; and I was drawn into this hauntingly beautiful love story by Cathy and Heathcliff.
She stayed in my thoughts for the next few years and I had resolved to read the book again at some point.
When Kate Bush released her super hit "Wuthering Heights" in 1978, I was finally under the spell of this story. I've been listening to this song over and over for months, and I was afraid that at some point the LP would be sawn in half by the turntable's stylus. I also read the book again at that time and was just as fascinated as when I first read it as a child.
At some point the idea began to mature in me to implement this story in some form, either as a painting or as a photographic project.
However, it took many more years until the whole thing had matured enough for me to dare to take on this project.
With the support of my wife I have now tackled several sequences and project parts on the subject of "Wuthering Heights".
Both the influences of the book and the song by Kate Bush flow into the whole.
For the first time in this project I use not only the still camera and the canvas, but also a drone.
I also benefit greatly from my wife's talent in dancing, so that we were able to film and photograph the choreography from Kate Bush's song. In the meantime, I have also infected my children, especially my daughter, with this project and she is also very enthusiastic and is involved in the implementation.
My son has found great joy in photography and filming and is also involved.
So you can basically say that the whole thing is a kind of family project, where the whole family, including the dog, is out and about and has a lot of fun looking for the right locations and implementing the individual parts.
