Old Lady at Church by frostcrystal Old Lady at Church by frostcrystal
I had the hardest time trying to figure out what to name this piece, so in the end I just gave up and named it like it was. I kind of feel that I went overboard with the colour saturation, but it was so much fun.

This is a quick, 45-minute painting from a pen sketch I made at least two years ago. I was living in Ecuador at the time and I attended this beautiful little church with the most glorious little hanging iron lamps (I drew a lot of hanging iron lamps while there). In between, though, I also did sketches of the people sitting in the pews.

Anyhow, yesterday Mark asked if I could paint something random for him, so I ruffled through all the bits of paper in my Bible and found this and painted it. I hope you liked it, Mark, because I drew it just for you.

I enjoy sketching the backs of peoples' heads in church, too, and I think the colors are lovely! :D
