,,,because you are buried down there too.

This is where I'd say Bravo Nolan, before soon dismissing this wannabe goth chick-ish edgy af lead in. Although, if only remembered for their somber cringe. They did produce a standard of beauty that could be classified as more classic and refined than their Elvira only 100% less funny and 50% more portly beginnings when I don't know... you could catch one at McDonalds pretending ketchup packets were blood and fries in the shape of a cross no longer affected her cause the person working the register said welcome to Mcdonalds.... and why am I fucking writing about Goth Chicks. I don't know! DA fumbled my short and sweet introduction and SoC wanted to talk undead 90s teen fashion.

The reason why you are buried down there too is because. A part of you no longer functioned with out the person. And were not talking about your fucking pancreas. The main one, being that you lost a part of your heart with the departed. Which is probably just a bond you made with the person though brain chemistry that no longer functions that same way. Which leaves an absence that your brain still might crave to this day. Which after we talk about it seems way more harsh than just coughing up a piece of blood and organ that looks in no way close to a ❤. Maybe a piece of your personality got on great with that person and in their passing that part of you will never be experienced and appreciated by anybody else before or after.

So this bloated intro  leads into what we're really here to discuss... MGS, you can stick around though it's just an analogue of sorts and if I liked playing with hot dogs. I think we'd still touch on all these points eventually.

You couldn't believe how much I loved MGS2: Substance. Not only did I  get my own copy of the still sort mysterious* Sons of Liberty, it had my  favorite thing about the VR Missions release on the PSone as well. That  was more pick up and play moments and not long trudges to the next cool  part that I must have been a lazy little prick to detest. Rigid weapon mode stages against targets? Nah... Over the top surreal and in-jokish stages with no replay? Fuck nah.. MGS music, action and it's character's distilled down into mini shards, which in turn liquefy and seem to  crystalize in your receptors....? I mean yeah, fuck yeah!

I can't remember if this was in the original Substance (FPS mode) but  it's a blast when my brain is wired to MGS/FPS at times. And I thought  why did I not remember this and I might have pulled out another memory  from a very standoff-ish loyalty I had to MGS even back then. See it was  a COD fuck-fest at the time or it was happening very shortly after. I  snubbed my little bastard nose at my beloved MGS entering that realm and refused to play it that way. I'm going to see the world top down and fuck whats ahead of me we'll just blow the fucker up when we get there. I  missed out once again due to misplaced loyalties and hills I could have  fucked around on, instead of dying and decaying on.

Also Raiden was my  dude, until he wasn't (yes MGS4 Ninja Raiden. While I'm happy for and ultra sad for the dude at times. He could be naive and out of his  element, but make no deadly fucking mistake. Raiden was Jack the Ripper in MGS2 and it's like nobody noticed that when disliking him at first)  and I like his tactical prowess that only shows he is at the very least on-par and probably even better than Solid Snake? How you ask. It's the dive animation that Snake  has where he crashes into the steps on a down slope, the only change in control that I see anyway where dude has the advantage. And its huge. Imagine two Batmans but one falls quite a bit going downstairs quickly, until he just decides to remove that from his repertoire and the other Batman is able to exploit and win the day.

*In the way that I rented the games mostly. I knew there was more there,  I mean you could fucking tell with MGS even without being versed in  Kojima. Somewhere along the line I became resentful of that then  lightened up. But yes, there is more behind the scenes real or imagined  with MG. MGS1 and MGS2 being my least corner scoured titles. I didn't  even include MGS2: Substance any where in my list, when we discussed the  final thoughts on Peace Walker. Substance is my Metal Gear nostalgia  and it's pretty fucking great to rediscover something you loved, then  began to hate, then when you drop all the bullshit... you find out it's  just limits you placed on your own mindset and attitude towards anything  and including games.

Another MGS article, but hey, I was feeling nostalgic and reflective self criticism  always deserves a reward (is that not premeditated reflective self criticism though. To which I could have just feigned in order to discuss MGS? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Probably). In my case it's writing about elderly, dead,  goofy, ninja men and women with weapons. That allows me to have that birds and the bees talk with ur mom.
