Jeconiah, King of Judah, is banished to Babylon by FromTheDust Jeconiah, King of Judah, is banished to Babylon by FromTheDust
The King of Babylon carries Jeconiah, King of Judah, away to Babylon, where he spends the rest of his life there and ultimately dies in captivity. This is the beginning of what is known in history as the Diaspora, or the "Babylonian Captivity" of the Hebrew people. You may remember the Hebrew people from Dreamworks' film "The Prince of Egypt." From the Dust picks up the story over 1000 years later when Jerusalem is about to be destroyed because of the extreme evil of the people that lived there. This is during the time of the prophet Jeremiah in the Old Testament and the prophet Lehi in the Book of Mormon. More info at www.BookofMormonComic.com. Don't worry. It's not preachy or anything. It just simplifies the story of these amazingly complex books into a format that is easy to digest and really fun and entertaining to read!
