I love doing little doll projects for all the Secret Santas I take part in. And when showing some that I made towards people that I know both in real life and over the Internet, they encouraged me to set up plush commissions as well! So recently, I actually put up a little store on Etsy for that very purpose, and I sell these things for £25 each with free shipping in the UK:www.etsy.com/uk/listing/637954…
Not long after I set it up, I had a client overseas asking for a plush doll of Dr. Coyle from ARMS
. I don't have a Nintendo Switch, but I got the idea that it's an appealing fighting game that made me think it's what could happen if Virtual On
got together and had a baby. The character designs look cool, the arsenal they have is very flexible, and I felt really keen to push as much as I can with the character!
As this is for a client, I decided to start using fleece more with my toys, making sure they keep more of a shape. This is something I realized when making a plush lamb for my niece when she was born earlier this year, but was fine to keep using the old stretch cotton for any loose clothing items. There was a lot of hot glue regarding the facial mask and additional details though, but it would've been difficult to keep its shape any other way - and between that and figuring out how the coils would wrap around her arms as well as the insane amount of heels on her feet, I really enjoyed figuring out how everything works!
If you're looking at this and you think "wow, this looks neat! I want to buy one!", I suggest you do it quick if you live overseas - the last Christmas postage date is eminent! But yeah, I'm hyped to do more ARMS
is a game put together by the folks at Nintendo. I made the plush!
