In the days of the winter solstice, the figure of the god Dionysus was venerated by the Maenads in ancient Greece, especially his rebirth, in the festivals called Lenee. The drawing represents the god Dionysus, who is reborn from his own child's body (represented here as that of a broken doll), after being lured by the titans by deception, killed and torn to pieces. After three days, being god and immortal, he rises again.
