Description
An NPC for my Mork Borg game, who was sadly killed in Pseudocaim's Apotheosis before he could be introduced.
One of the big conceits of the game is that a new occult philosophy, Microcosmism, is taking the Unmaire Region by storm. Microcosmist societies are forming in every large city, some quite powerful, and the one in Chlodian West Arfan (where the game is set) has since developed a lot of the same inhumanities and malfeasance as Bloodborne's Healing Church.
Despite its widespread character, however, the philosophy's origins are fairly simple, starting with a series of mystical revelations given to a military surgeon in the Mauricio-Unmairan War, which he collected and published as a religious accompaniment to newly developing Secular Humanism and Radical Republicanism. Van der Roe never thought that his ideas would go beyond a few other mystics he knew in his immediate circle, but the text he wrote, the Metaphysics of Physiology, was a bestseller and his ideas spread in increasingly distant and bastardized forms.
At the time of his death, Van der Roe was visiting with the West Arfan Microcosmists, marooned there due to the Xenonazi invasion and having to contend with a group of people who, despite following his occult philosophy, had fully embraced Scientific Racism, the Divine Right of Kings, and paramilitary violence as a tool of political power.
IIRC., my main inspiration for him was William Blake, but he ended up looking more like Bolivar.
very nicely done work..
