Plz Accounts:

Plz accounts at deviantART are mostly inactive accounts that individuals create just to use the avatar. People can use these "plz" avatars in their text at deviant art by typing the following code:
Here's an example using FreeAvatarProject's avatar:
    :iconfreeavatarproject: :iconFreeAvatarProject:
So now you know how to insert an avatar into your text. However, a few avatars were designed together to make a larger graphic. Just add the icon codes next to each other without spaces. Here's an example:
    :iconyouareplz::iconallowedplz: :iconYouArePlz::iconAllowedPlz:
See above how YouArePlz and AllowedPlz are combined into one graphic? Neat, eh? Here's another:
    :icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz: :iconDoNotUsePlz::iconMyArtPlz:
Now that you see DoNotUsePlz and MyArtPlz side-by-side to make a graphic wider, you should know that other plz icons may be designed to stack matching icons to make them taller, in which case simply add the lower icons below the top icons without spaces:
    :iconsharknoseplz::iconsharkeyeplz: :iconimsorryplz::iconsharkbodyplz::iconsharktailplz: :iconsharknoseplz::iconsharkeyeplz: :iconimsorryplz::iconsharkbodyplz::iconsharktailplz:
Please note that none of this information was intended to encourage anyone to go on a spamming spree. Emoticons and avatars are nice little ways to express ourselves, but they can get annoying when issued in bulk. Please use common sense:Where can I find more of these "plz" accounts? There are many of these icons to be discovered around deviantART. Here are just a few of them in alphabetical order:...Have fun!!

One would think there would be more straightforward ways to create your own icons?

Plz icons are meant for messages. Like emoticons. These aren't generally meant to be used as one's personal avatar. If you're looking for avatars that you can use... [link]

That's exactly what I mean - why not give people the opportunity to create their own icons/emoticons without having to go through the hassle of creating "fake" profiles and re-using those avatars?

Thanks for this! :D

Hey, I was just wondering, what html code have you used to stop text turning into icons and deviants names?

For example:

Just, some people have asked me how to put links and icons like this in thier comments, as credit when using my avatars.
I'd like to be able to show them how to do it without having to put and * to stop it changing, and then later, telling them to delete it, like below:

Eg. :icon*flab-face:

FreeAvatarProject's avatar
Oh wait... for that last one, type this:

It should show up like this:
FAQ #81: How can I make links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?

Thanks bruh. Helps a lot!

I used a little html around each of the colons:

< b > : < / b >

(Remove the spaces)

Or you can give them this:
FAQ #81: How can I make links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?

Just type the following without spaces:
< b > : < / b > faq81 < b > : < / b >
