Hey Diddle Diddle, Cleaned up

A cat is shown biting the bow of a string instrument, which he pushes away with his foot.

(Because, let's face it, if a cat was given a fiddle, this is probably what he'd do with it.)

Notes

Well, this is the transparent background version of Hey Diddle Diddle. It took me several days to turn that into this, particularly since a lot of those lone hairs sticking out had a lot of dirt around them, and the drawing is simply huge (I usually do ½ of a letter-sized sheet of paper, but this one takes up the whole page! Not to mention I scanned it at 300 dpi)

The shadows were made semi-transparent by copying them into one of Fireworks' "erase" layers and setting it to 33% opacity.

An attempt at irresistable cuteness.

I drew this during my numerous waits for busses today (which unfortunately got the paper a little dirty). I tried some shading by hand, but there's only so much you can do when all you have is one #2 pencil that magically goes blunt when you want it sharp, and stays sharp when you want it blunt.

I also discovered I am incapable of drawing a fiddle from memory.
