That looks quite the view! Some day I've got to plan a hiking adventure down in the southwest. The orange rock is so different from the green forests and yellow deserts in the northwest.

It's very different, but very cool to see. We went on "The Grand Circle" tour of the southwest last October, and saw a lot of the more popular sites. I didn't get to go hiking on any of the major trails in Bryce, but this was taken from a minor trail kind of on the North-East end, near Mossy Cave.

I've always wanted to do the grand circle, especially Bryce Canyon. What parks did you visit?

I'm sure if I visited, I would do the same. I prefer the less-crowded, minor trails in parks. If you're ever up in the northwest, I highly recommend Mt. Rainier National Park in the spring for the wildflowers or fall for the colors; the sheer size of the mountain is absolutely breathtaking.

We went to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome, Capital Reef, Escalante Petrified Forest, Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park, Mesa Verde, the Four Courners, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon. It was a very busy trip, but while it was neat to see it all, I wish we'd had more time to explore each place.
