Thatcher Island Twin Light

I absolutely mega zoom cameras! I was lucky enough to get a good shot of one of the twin lights of Thatcher Island in Rockport, MA today. They're really quite a beautiful pair of lighthouses – built of granite and standing 123 ft tall, the current lighthouses date from the 1860s and are only 1 of 7 sets of twin lighthouse operating on the Atlantic coast and the only twin lights in America.

I've been having some fun tonight playing around with the photo and trying to create a watercolor/painting type effect. I found a couple of tutorials online and have been mixing some of the techniques:
