It was day number five since Nox became a resident to Taberia, which had yet another nice late summer weather. The grey, short furred Eevee was slowly getting used to be seen by all the villagers of Taberia but had a special task to do today. Yesterday did he met Vaders wife, Curry the fortune-telling Lopunny, who asked kindly if the Eevee could help her out for today, which he instantly agreed to. That's why he was on his way towards their home without the knowledge of what he got into today.
As soon as he arrived at the lovely looking Hutt of theirs did Nox greet the Lopunny "Good morning Miss Curry!" "Ah, good morning Nox, I'm glad you appeared today." was she responding as she just happened to return from the daycare. "How may I help you?" was the grey furred Eevee asking as a young, female Buneary just got out of the house "Mom, who's that weird looking Eevee over there?" "Chili, this is Nox." as he nods a moment to that "He'll be watching over you today while I prepare our home for winter."
Nox ears twitched to hear that and thought *I... have to babysit?!* as the rebellious child responded to that with "Why do I have to be taken care by someone who goes to the same place Ginger goes to?!" "Chili dear, he also worked for your father two days ago." was the mother responding to her as the little girl blinks from that "He did?" which Nox responded with "Yep, I did." "Still doesn't change that you're a boring Scholar!" the Eevee rolled his eyes from that as Curry giggles a bit awkwardly "I'm sorry about that."
"It's okay Miss Curry, she's in her rebellious age after all." was the Eevee responding calm and quietly towards her *Something that I never could afford back when I was on my own...*. "Allright Chili, please behave around Nox, okay?" was the female fortune-teller talking to her troublemaking child as she responded with a little pout "Yes Mom." "That's a good girl. Nox, I'm counting on you." and with that did Curry headed into their home. Shortly after that did Chili looked displeased with crossed arms "Don't think that I'll listen to you bookworm!"
"Is that so?" was Nox responding to that calmly as he dodged a sudden Fake Out from Chili, having predicted that she'll do something along these lines. "Ey, what was that for?" wanted the Eevee to know as the little Buneary responded to that with "If you're a true Tracker will you spare with me!" Nox sighted from that "Listen... I don't want to spare today because my legs still are sore from the todays training with Marble." "LAAAAME! I still don't know why my brother is that amazed by you... maybe it's just your odd fur."
Despite the mocking of the rambunctious girl was Nox surprisingly calm about that, but his voice had an undertone of seriousness "Listen up Chili." Which made her look towards him rather irritated "I may be odd looking with my grey fur. Heck, there are a lot of Pokémon out there that are unique in their own ways." Chili tilted her head from that "Huh? What do you wanna say with that?" "What I wanna say is... you wanna be like your father, right?" which made her speak up rather cheerfully "YEP! I wanna be like him one day!"
"Then stop bullying other Pokémon from now on and try to be a little bit more gentle towards them." "But that sounds so boooring!" was she saying in protest to that. Nox rolled his eyes again but thought for himself *Stay calm, she's just a child after all* as he said "All right, let me explain what I mean. Let's uhh... imagine you got harmed by someone much stronger then you." Which the Buneary responded to "But tha-" as the Eevee cut off her words "Please let me explain Chili." as she pouts from that "Fiiine."
"Ahem. Let's say you've an injury that doesn't allow you to walk." as she frowns from that while he continued "Alice finds you in that condition, but here's what you did to her comes into play. If you were always mean to her and bullied her will she not help you, but if you were nice to her and helped her out, then she'll help you. Do you understand what I mean with that?" the little Buneary was quiet for a moment and thought about what the grey furred Eevee explained to her, but she kinda got what he tried to say to her.
"So you wanna say that I should help out helpless ones or I'll never be like my father then?" *Close enough, but she kinda got it* was Nox thinking as he responds "Your father is admired because he does help out the ones that can't defend themself. Even I am doing that, but in two ways." "What two ways?" was she asking curiously. "I'm in the Scholars Guild to learn about things. And the things I learned will I use to help the ones that need help and to survive the dangerous tasks." "I don't get it... that's too much for me right now..." was Chili saying quite humble.
A calm chuckle escaped Nox as he ruffled the head of hers, while she was kinda surprised from that "One day will you understand what I mean with that Chili." "Umm... Nox?" he blinked a moment as she actually called by his name "What's your reason that you're in both my fathers and the Scholars guild?" The Eevee looked kinda surprised by that question, but then clenched his worn-out blue scarf that he wore onto him before he responds with a determined look on his face to that with "To prevent the things that happened in the village I came from."
Chili saw that Nox was telling the truth with that, and spend the rest of the day talking with him. He told her some of the stories that are well known from his old place and never be heard before in Tabira, which did caught her attention a lot that it was starting to become afternoon. Curry was finally finished with what she had to do and just headed out of her house, only to see Chili actually giggling around Nox who was chuckeling too, as she grabbed a charm from a desk to bring it over to them.
"A mom! Nox told me a lot of amazing stories from where he comes from!" as the Eevee looks over to the Lopunny "Worry Not, I only told stories that were told to me in my childhood." Curry nodded with a soft smile to hear that "Thank you for your help Nox. Please take this Charm as a token of gratitude." she kneeled down onto Nox who stood still as she binded the cord of the Warding Charm around his neck. "A-ah, t-thank you Miss Curry." "There we go. It'll protect you just once from malicious things, you'll need it."
"Mom? Can he stay here with us for dinner?!" was Chili asking with excitement as the Eevee chuckled from that "I would like to stay Chili, but I have to rest because I wanna do my best for tomorrow." "Awwww okay." was the little Buneary responding to that as the Lopunny nods to that "All right then, have a nice afternoon Nox." "You too Miss Curry. And keep the promise you made Chili!" as the little girl responded to that with "And next time will we spare, right?" "Maybe!" and with that did headed home.

The Wishing Cake and the Eight Spirits
Because he took care of Chili when Curry had to work onto the winter preparations on their house was he rewarded with a Warding Charm, which is a lovely looking charm that will prevent malicious things like status effects and might be even strong enough to ward off a magical curse. It's a one use only and will lose its color after it defended its wearer.
