ToT Chapter 3-3 - Full Moon Resonance (Updated)

It was getting close to night time as Nox headed over to meet up with Chandra, Lydia, Darius and other Teams that were doing this night mission. Despite his current conditions did he wanted to help scouting out for a good place of the so called Void Stone so it could function properbly. His body was shivering softly, but he was too focused on the toughs about what happened during his dream that he could remember of the red piece of clothing he weared when they got to Yawaru in first place.

*If I understood my parents right... am I a witchh-hunter AND a witch... but they kept it a secret from me... I bet they wanted me to live a normal life... but now...* a sad sigh escaped him with a frown on his face *Last thing I want is to meet Sonya and Yang... I don't even know what happened back in the cave when I lost my conciousness but... I'm pretty sure they don't want to talk with me anymore... I even lost the scarf that belonged to Nariko... and... apperently is she a witch too...*

Once he arrived at the meeting point at the bonfire could he see familair faces of Team Guang in form of Lin Lin, Birch and their Houndour friend, Ian the Zorua that warned them from Oxnard along with a Chikorita and Team Lancer with the Lucario and the shiny Buizel. Said Buizels black burlap tunic was almost looking like the starry night sky itself, which remembered the male shiny Eevee of the Starry Dye while notecing the beer bottle with the Lucario. *What the hell...? I wouldn't drink alcohol during duty if I was that Lucario!*

Soon was he notecing that Team Pathfinders were also there as he spots Yang first, then Sonya who evolved indeed into a Sylveon. But he avoided looking towards them out of shame and more importantly... fear *I don't want to talk with them right now...* were his thoughs while he instantly walked up to the position the official guild members and the Scholars Leader was. At the same time were the other Teams notecing Nox, which caused the Zorua to be rather shocked to see that Eevee up and running already.

"Ok everyone it's the start of the night. We'll now begin our task of finding a spot for the Voice Stone." was Chandra calling out the the group, which got her the full attention of them. She soon noticed Nox beeing there too and that he wasn't looking in a good shape. Not only that, she could instantly tell that he was a witch too, which was a little surprise for her. "Nox, I appreciate that you want to help but you have to rest in the hospital!" was the Scholars leader scolding him in a familair tone, one that he already have heared before.

The grey furred shook his head and responded surprisingly in the same tone but not as authoritive "I refuse your order Lady Chandra! I want to help scouting ahead and finding a good spot for the Void Stone then staying in bed and doing nothing at all!" His black eyes showcased her the determention that he haves despite his current condition. The Lanturn was taken back when she that he responded in a proper military response, seeing a surprising resemblence with her younger self when she servied in the military.

It was Lydia who then asked Nox "Are you sure Nox? You still look like you need some rest..." "I'll be fine! As long as I don't have to fight that is!" was his respond in the same determined tone. Darius frowned concerned but sighs "Welp... if he ain't backing down then we have to send him off with another Pokemon to scout ahead." The Noibat nodded to the Krokoroks idea "As long as he's not scouting ahead on his own in such a condition...""It takes a lot more to take me out." was Nox quick yet short response to the two officals.

"Allright... but if you see suspicious looking Pokemon will you immidiatly return to us, do you understand Nox?!" was Chandra commanding military tone that also held concern. He nodded in agreement and then responded loud and clearly with "Yes ma'am!" "Allright then, I need a Pokemon who will partner up with Nox to scout the north east because I won't let him go on his own!" was the Scholars Leader speaking up to the group looking for volunteers. "Well go with him." was a familair female voice that was alot more mature.

Nox eyes widened when he realised that it was Sonya saying that their team will go with him, which caused his ears to go limb while his thoughs were clear *Of all the ones that can go with me.. why them... why not the Zorua?!* Chandra looked skeptical for a second but before she can voice it was the Sylveon speaking up in an impatient, yet serious tone again"We've worked with Nox before on other tasks so we know how he'll think or act pretty well. We’re the best choice to go with him to ensure he's safe for the task."

The male shiny Eevee glimpsed to the direction to Team Pathfinders to see that Sonya looked like they can handle it, while Yang looked apologetic to him but speaked up timidly as usual "Y-Yes. M-Me and my partner can watch over him while looking around for a place and then help transporting the stone." Lydia nods calmly as she accepted that "Allright, I know that both Team Pathfinders and Nox did worked with each other back in Darkhowl Forest and not long ago." which was true, since Lydia was present when that mission occured.

Darius gives in with a nod "M'kay then, Lin Lin and Margret will help me with the Void Stone once they scouted the place for us." The Pangoro nodded calmly as the Chikorita nodded too while speaking to her teammate "No tricks, got it?" which he responded a bit upset to his teammate "What the hell do you think Magret?! I'll find a good place for the Void Stone!" "Let's head out Avaline." was the Lucario speaking up to the shiny Buizel medic as she nods her head to the leader "Roger that David." They headed all headed out seperatly,  Lydia and Ian went to the west, and Team Lancer going to the north-west of the campfire.

Birch looked over to the Houndour as he spoked up timidly "W-we should go too Penelope." The Houndour noticed the grey furred Eevee frowned dissapointedlyy as she responded to the shiny Phantump with "Mhh, please wait a second Birch." Birch nodded timidly to her as she walked up to Nox to ask him "Hey, are you sure you're okay?" Nox flinched from her voice as he backs a bit away from the Houndour without looking to her. He then looked up towards the female to notice that it was the other teammate of Lin Lin speaking to him.

The shiny Eevee didn't wanted to tell her the truth, that he's bothered and scared to work with Team Pathfinders with the current events, as he responds a bit nervously "I-I'm fine... t-thanks for the ask..." Penelope to tilted her head as she was able to hear it out that he lied towards her "Are you sure? You look like something is bothering you pretty strongly..." Nox flinched from her words, then shook his head quickly to disagree "Nonono! I'm alright despite that I'm not in the condition to fight! Which is bothering me but thanks for asking!"

"If you say so... if I was in your position would I stay in bed. Lin Lin, who brought you and Team Pathfinders out of that cave, wouldn't have letted me go like that." was the Houndour responding as she didn't buyed his lie at all.  But she didn't wanted to bother the male shiny Eevee even more then he already is when his eyes widened a bit from that information. "I see... tell you Pangoro friend that she haves my humble gratidute that she brought me to the hospital on that day." Penny nodded to that when  she headed out with Birch to the north.

Chandra now responded to Sonya after having enough time to think about it "Very well, but you all won't engage hostiles, got it? Nox isn't in condition to fight after all, and you just evolved not long ago Sonya. You both should have stayed in bed.” Nox took a glimps to Team Pathfinders again to see that Sonyas eyes narrowed lightly in irritation when her evolution got mentioned. She responded "I'm fine. It's been a few days since then so I'm in a lot better shape than him right now." as she motioned towards him, which felt like mocking.

"All the more reason for us to be with him. So let's get started." was the Sylveon speaking up shortly after she got back onto her four paws while the shiny Mienfoo nodded "W-We'll be careful Madam Chandra. A-A fight is what we'd like to avoid." before looking over to her teammate. Nox was capable to notice that Sonya was staring towards the area they had to scout ahead, while Yang seemed to become even more worried then before. The Scholars leader sighted in defeat because she had no other viable options left to choose from.

“Very well. I can’t stop you, but don’t say that I didn’t warn you. Now head out north-east of the desert and make sure not to lose sight of each other.” was her firm tone speaking up again, which caused Nox to flinch before nodding weakly "Y-yes ma'am." He looked away from Team Pathfinders as he heared Yang saying "J-Just relax Nox. W-We'll watch out for each other." His head didn't turned towards his shiny Mienfoo friend as he nodded weakly to aknowledge her words, while his thoughs were *As long as you don't turn on me...*

"You really should have stayed one more day in bed Nox. Fighting is one thing, you know taking on dangerous terrain at night is a danger on its own." was Sonyas words as she looked to him sternly before she became unemotional again as she went ahead of them. "Stay close to Yang. I'll lead this time." His face turned into a frown before he glared towards Sonya for the remarks she said not long ago "Said the one who got out of the bed a day before me. Besides, I've learned to deal with deserts like this when I..."

Nox stopped abruptly and released an annoyed grunt as he thought for himself *If i wasn't in this situation wouldn't you be so arrogant Sonya!* Yang rubbed her arm nervously when the male shiny Eevee closed onto her. She sighted softly and looked down  as she started to follow her teammate  "L-Lets get doing Nox." which he responded to quietly with "Whatever..." The grey furred Eevee wasn't feeling well at all, his ears still beeing close on his head during the whole walk while he avoided looking towards Sonya at all cost.

Sonya got a bit of a distance away from Yang and Nox as she kept scanning the surroundings in high alert. The darkness finally settled in as the full moon shined down on the desert canyon, offering some form of light so they weren't marching in complete darknes, not that it bothered him at all. Nox knew that he's kinda hurting his shiny Mienfoo friend the way he is now, but the fact that he's a witch-hunter AND a witch was the reason he didn't wanted to drag Yang into the trouble of his... nor does he want Sonya to attack him for who he is.

*I wish I wasn't with them right now... more importantly... I'm scared that they do turn on me and then... abandon me alone here, deeming my demise with that...* Nox ears was still near his head as he followed them through the desert dunes that were illuminated by the full moon. A sigh escaped him since he was still feeling odd after all the things that happened. Ever since he woke up was his body feeling very strange, but he can't figure out what it was since there are a lot of things he had to deal with by now... like his awakened witch powers.

His body was shivering softly from the cold, but Nox is a soldier, a fighter so he keeps on moving while he could see from the edge of his view range that his female friend was firmly looking towards the Sylveon, and sometimes towards the male shiny Eevee, only to see that her paws were getting into fists the longer the silence kept up between the three of them, which was occasionally stopped by the broken sound of Sonyas soothe bell earring whenever she moved her ear around. After some march did they arrived at a tall desert cliff.

Sonya stopped infront of it to look towards her teammate while avoiding the grey furred Eevee. "I'll climb up there and see if there's a spot for the Voice Stone. Or if there's a spot overall since the height will help me see better." was she informing them passively as she was looking infront of her again. "Wait here for now." The Sylveon was about to jump as she shiny Mienfoo looked concerned towards her with a quick spoken "U-Uh Sonya." She looked back to Yang as she asked pretty concerned "A-Are you sure it's ok to go up there alone?"

Sonyas answer was pretty plain "No. But that's why I'm going first. I'll make sure the cliff is secure or safe. One going up is better than three. If I find it safe you both can follow but let me go first." The shiny Mienfoo nodded to show that she understanded despite her worries, which made the Sylveon nod back before turned back again without even looking at Nox. She crouched down then leaped up to start to climb. Their friend looked towards the Sonya for a moment, before hestiantly looking to Nox as she asks "H-How are you feeling Nox?"

When he heared Yangs hesiatently asking him how he's feeling could he hear her worried tone underneath it which caused him looked away from her, before responding with "I'm fine..." His voice however had the undertone of beeing broken as he was still beeing unhappy about the situation he is, as well as scared from beeing pushed away by them. "Just worry about Sonya..." was his second respond as he kept moving on despite beeing told to wait there with Yang, who hestiatently wanted to reach out to her friend in worry.

Nox suddently tripped, which caused him to roll down the sand dune he was on and slide all the way down to the end of it while the shiny Mienfoo gasped from that. His grey fur was covered by the red sand, while just some barely visible grey fur spots were noticable. Luckly did no sand got into his mouth as he stayed layed down like that. He was still capable to move but didn't wanted anymore, there was no reason for him to continue on walking with Team Pathfinders if they all were silent like that towards each other. *Yeah, I'll stay here now...*

Yang sighted in relief as she could see that her friend was allright she glanced up to Sonya to see that her Sylveon friend had looked down to see if everything was okay, before she returned climbing. The shiny Mienfoos eyes layed back towards the male shiny Eevee who didn't moved at all as her paws tighten to fists again. Her eyes narrowed sternly as placed her feet firmly on the ground, before raising her paws towards him The grey furred Eevee could feel how he got leviatated out of the position he was before and towards her.

Soon was he infront of his shiny Mienfoo friend who still had a stern look on her face as he wasn't moving nor looking towards her. His ears still were limb onto his head as he looks away from Yang for a moment when she started to speak up in a serious tone "N-Nox, I’m sorry I can't stand this anymore. Y-You and Sonya both are driving me mad with worry." The shiny Mienfoo letter her feelings pour out as she was pretty frustrated and unsure if what she's going right now was going to help him or not while Nox sighted internally from that.

She suddently asked with a slightly raised and serious voice "W-Why are you acting like this? W-What happened to that strong confidence or goofy personality i first saw in you when we became friends. T-The way your acting now isn't the friend I made." Nox could he hear her frustration out of her voice while responding in his mind *Yang... why are you asking me that... if you know why...* His ears are still limp on his head as he still looks away as she asked with sadness. "A-Are we not friends anymore? I-Is this why you’re acting like this?"

When he heared the sad tone in her voice does his black eyes started to tear up, which was hidden from her since his head was still down casted as everything became clear for him. His body started to shake visibly when she asked if they aren't friends anymore. "Y-yang..." Nox voice spoke up in a broken and unsure tone as he wanted to know why she's doing all this "W-why..." And for the first time this night does he look towards his shiny female friend as she can see silent tears running down his face, not knowing that Sonya was watching them.

"W-why are you... still talking to me... I-I'm dangerous..." was he speaking up as his body was clearly shaking by now while he was confessing what was going on in his mind. "I-I'm a witch-hunter... a-and a witch... both things that... bothers you and even... her..." with her was he refering to Sonya as he knows that she was a witch-huntress. "I-I can sense by now... that something is wrong with you... Yang..." because of his awakened witch powers is he able to sense other witches and their handiworks, a blessing and curse at the same time.

"A-and that something.... is why you... don't fight... or why you... freeze up..." which a referance to how he saw the shiny Mienfoo in a panicked state back in Darkhowl Woods. Her soft gasp, the way her arms moved to her chest and sad look with fear in her eyes told him that he was right about it as her body started to shake slightly. Despite his lightly blurred vision can Nox see how Yang looked down towards her wrapped up legs *Her legs... are they the reason why she... freezes up? That... a witch hurted them badly...*

"S-so why... why aren't you... keeping distance to me? W-why... do you worry for me..." it was at this point where he breaked down infront of his shiny friend. The once confident and sometimes goofy Eevee was shattered by who he truly is and worries even more about his friend then himself. His words were all in honesty and reflected his fear as he kept crying, while she was looking towards him with a pained look and surprise to see him break down like that infront of her. Yang looked towards the cliff side to see Sonya standing on the ledge.

The shiny Mienfoo soon looked back to Nox again and contemplated what to do as her paws tightened together before she started to speak up with a pained and clear voice, but kept staring towards him to show that she was brave "I-I was... kept prisoner by b-bandits..." The grey furred Eevees black eyes widen in surpris while, tears kept staining his cheeks as he listens to Yang starting to tell her story while thinking *Why... why are you opening up to me...* But his silent preys won't be heared as the shiny Mienfoo friend of his continued.

"I-I used to be a strong fighter. I-I had two fighting type parents and they trained me well. I-I was... p-proud of how strong I was... U-Until one day, w-we were ambush by b-bandits." He can see how the look on her face became more pained when she hugged herself. *Yang... no... please stop... I don't want to see you in fear... I don't want to see you hurted like that... * yet made it feel Nox even more bad around her the more he listened to what she said towards him about her story *Why are you hurting yourself with these horrible memories?!*

"I-I was knocked out a-and became their prisoner. T-They would m-make me fight for entertainment. I-I won a lot due to my training... a-and any chance I got I would try to escape b-but I was alone and there were too many so I was caught every time... b-but soon they got bored of me winning and t-trying to escape..." Seeing how Yangs body started to shake even more then before as she hugged herself even tighter like back in Darkhowl Woods caused him to shake his head while muttering "No..." as he started to shake more.

"T-They hired a w-witch to take my strength away. M-My legs were my strength. S-So the w-witch... p-put a curse on them. S-So every time I'd try to fight or escape with my legs..." The shiny Mienfoo closed her green eyes as she continued with a fearful shake in her voice, "T-The pain would start... A-And they would laugh at my pain... I-I tried so hard to be strong and get past it b-but..." “Yang...” Nox looked very pained and only wanted to dissapear.

That's until a soft ring of a bell broke him out of that though as he can see the shiny Mienfoo glancing to that direction again which he didn't looked to. His female friend took a shaky breath as she lowered her arms again when she continued to speak "I-I was alone. I-I didn't have anyone to help me. A-And I changed. M-My will to fight died away and I-I soon hated fighting. R-Right when I was about to give up..." At this point of the story did her voice lost the fear in it as it got lighter and softer then before like a relieve "S-Someone found me..."

When Yang placed one of her paws on her chest right onto her eyes with a fond smile did he finally realised what she tried to tell him as she kept telling her story.  *Yang... I understand now...* was Nox thinking silently because of that as she continued with "A-An old but kind soul. S-She rescued me from my prison and fear. A-And became my new teacher. A-After I don't know how long of being alone and in pain, I-I was found and rescued from my suffering. T-Thanks to that, I was able to meet Sonya and that's when I truly wasn't alone anymore."

And when she opened her eyes again towards him with seriousness while her body stopped shaking did she told him "I-I know what's its like, to be alone and in a hopeless situation. F-Feeling like you’re lost with no one there to help you." Alone... something Nox was for a long time in his life...  yet when his friend walked towards him, then fell onto her knees and suddently hugged him close to her did he looked pretty surprised and didn't moved at all while he finally realised something very important... he wasn't alone anymore and haves a friend.

"I-I don't care that your part w-witch or a hunter. Y-You’re not like them. Y-You and Sonya both aren't like them." She hugs him tight with a soft smile and honest tone. "A-And I'm not scared. N-Nor will I let someone else be alone like I once was. You and Sonya... I won't ever let you both be alone." Yangs words told him exactly what he needed to hear in such a hard situation in his life, where all he didn't used to know was kept as a secret to enable him a normal life that he would never get due to the fact that he's half witch and half witch-hunter.

Sonyas soothe bell rang out softly again when she heared the whole conversation between her teammate and the grey furred Eevee. "Yang..." was Nox speaking up with a hiccup, after he stopped crying"Thank you... thank you a lot..." were his honest tone as his body finally stopped shaking from the warm embrace of his shiny Mienfoo friend. One last tear ran down his cheek as he closed his eyes, a tear of joy. Said tear landed right onto the right paw of his as his whole body suddently started to get enveloped by a very bright white light.

"I won't let you down, my friend" was he muttering as the shape of his body started to change in the hug of his friend. Yangs story and honest words triggered an evolution as the bright light from the full moon glowed stronger in the position of theirs. First did he started to grow in heigh... which stopped around 3'3 foot which is slightly larger then usual, given that he was a tad larger to begin with. As the glow starts to fade did a navy blue glow started to shine through the white glow, making it still hard to look until he evolved.

Instead of grey furred shiny Eevee beeing embrace by the shiny Mienfoo is now a black furred being in that soft embrace. It's tail was slightly longer, but didn't have the typical blue ring on the thickest part on the tail. The white paws from before were now black, while a navy blue glowing zigzag lines goes around at the ankles. The other rings on the black furred body were all in their right spots and glowing navy blue too, but what's also noticable is that the ring on the forehead is actually shaped in a star while the eyes were closed for now.

Once the glow of his evolution disappeared was it replaced by the soft, navy blue light of his rings... which revealed that it was Nox who evolved into a shiny Umbreon!

His eyes were still closed as he nuzzles his cheek softly onto Yangs cheek before he spoke up. "I'll never let my friends down again and I promise you, that I'll find a way to lift that curse of yours." Nox felt Yang flinching softly when he mentioned the curse she was bearing, but she knows by now that he wanted to help her too which made her smile in happyness and gratefulness. "T-Thank you..." she laughted a bit "You and Sonya both have made that promise to me and I-I believe it. W-We’ll all help each other because that's what friends do."

Nox nodded in gratefulness before chuckling softly when she laughed. His eyes were still closed as the shiny Mienfoo shed some tears of happyness and relief before she broke up the hug. His eyes were still closed when she letted him go, but started to open up and look towards his shiny Mienfoo friend, revealing the silver eyes that clearly belongs to a child of a witch-hunter and a good witch. Yang took a moment then blinked once when she noticed his new form, then smiles brightly while having a surprised and happy look on her face.

"Y-You evolved." was she pointing out to her now Umbreon friend, causing his silver eyes to widen in surprise. "I... evolved?" was Nox asking a bit confused, only to hear that his voice matured too. It was at this moment he realised that the soft navy blue glow that was illuminating the surroundings of them softly was coming from him. "I evolved?!" the Umbreon still was in quite a shock when he heared that he evolved as he looks at parts of himself, then realising his new form "I evolved into an Umbreon but I look different!?"

Yang observed him a bit then giggled softly at his shocked reaction "N-Now were both a shade of blue." *S-so... what I saw before wasnn't how a shiny Umbreon looked like?! That means... that the female shiny Umbreon is unique... and so am I because of my ankles~*  His silver eyes looked to Yang and turn from shocked to amazed and happy.

Soon were his eyes looking over to Sonya, meeting her violet eyes and seeing her paw near her bow on her chest and her ears down. "Sonya..." seeing her like that was making him feel bad, yet he also felt the need to cheer her up as he started to approached her in his new form. Before the Sylveon could say or react to him was his head soon next to hers as he suddently started to nuzzle his cheek onto hers with a soft red blush on his face. She jumped in surprise from the sudden nuzzeling as he whispered into her ear "You look beautiful..."

Sonya gasped from that sudden compliment as her face took on a small shade of red while staring at him. It was at this point were Nox realised that he felt a feeling that he feft before in his life when he was still young. A feeling that is very powerful indeed and that was reserved to his parents first. It was already noticed by two different Pokemon that caused him quite some troublesome thoughs when they spoked it out towards him. *Sonya... I hope you don't hate me... because I think I might...* were his thoughs as he was accepting it.

"I know I'm a witch-hunter and a witch... but I hope you don't hate me... because I want to be your friend..." did the Umbreon said with slight hesitation, fear and honesty staring right towards the Sylveon. Her look softened up by his request as she seem to be touched by it. But she suddently flinched due to the fact that she haves the ability Cute Charm, which Nox didn't knew as she quickly stepped back while looking a bit upset "D-Don't get to close...." His ears lowered down at the reaction as he grew more concerned and unsure.

Yet when Sonya took a shakey breath did he looked back to her, only to hear "I don't hate you Nox." *Wait... what!?* his silver eyes to widen from that as she looked unsure to the side by now. "I knew to be suspicious of you due to your hunter half only because I feared you were a hunter like I was. I hated that I was once proud of being one when the reality was we are cold blooded killers. I ran away from that life to start new. Yet despite my fear of you being one, as time went I realized, you aren't like the ones I grew up with."

When Sonya told him what he already knew about witch-hunters and that she didn't wanted such a life did he nodded softly, while she took a deep breath before their eyes met each other again. "As much as I hate to admit it, some of my huntress instincts are still in me and even now I can clearly sense your witch half. The difference is though, I am not a huntress anymore and you aren't an evil witch." *I know how witch-hunters can become... but I'm glad you broke free from the corruption before it got you brainwashed...

The Sylveon looked over to teammate as she continued with "I was taught by a stubborn old Pokemon to know the difference between a good witch and a bad one. It took some time, but I am able to distinguish good and bad this time." Before she looked back to the shiny Umbreon with silver eyes "I'll be honest, part of me is still skeptical due to you being half. I grew up where, a union between a witch and a hunter... Is taboo. And usually would mean your death." she looked rather pained when mentioning that, which kinda surprised Nox.

*I have to thank their mentor should I meet that Pokemon...* were his thoughs as he sighed calmly and nodded to Sonya "I'm aware that I'll be hunted down by corrupted and evil witches for who I am, but that won't stop me from living the life I got from my parents." Sonya looked to him with an understanding look, then shook her head with narrowed eyes. "But as I said, I'm not a huntress anymore. I may not be completely comfortable with this, but that doesn't mean I hate you Nox." He raised his head and looked surprised and reliefed.

The Sylveon looked unsure to the side again when she spoked up "Just, give me some time to sort my feelings out. I really don't know what I'm feeling about all this." Before her violet eyes looked straight in the silver eyes of the Umbreon. "But I promise you one of them isn't hate. I wanna try to be friends, just give me time." But before she nor him could really realise what was going on did Nox moved and suddently hugged Sonya softly and in joy. She gasped in surprise and tensed up from the sudden hug of his that surprised even Yang.

"Thank you! Thank you a lot Sonya..." was Nox mumbleing softly to her because she didn't pushed him away either. "I'm sure we both will manage to overcome the problems we have." were his words before he let her go with a soft smile on his face. Sonya sighted in relief once she was free due to her ability, as she wasn't feeling glad with that. "Oh right.
