I love the pattern on the flower, and also the texture in the background. It's a great macro photograph :)
I think you captured the bee very nicely, it fits in well.

your use of cropping for effect is excellant.
is this something you take into consideration beforehand? thinking it through?
or do you bring it into photoshop or some other app try different things until
you get the right balance you're after?

I usualy know that i plan on framing the photograph but i keep this somewhat subconscious when im taking the photograph. I'm usualy just concerned with capturing my subject completely, or the way i'd like to capture it and not have it smack dab in the middle. I use a border-template in most of my photographs, so the border is usualy pre-determined unless it just looks horribly bad.
