I took this photo from the top of the mountain Piz Gloria, a.ka. the Schilthorn (Some crappy James Bond movie was filmed up there.) with my 14mm lens. After the rocks and grasses at the bottom of the photo, there is a drop of a few hundred metres. The scattered houses one can see in the middle of the photo is the sky-resort/village of Muerren. After this village there is yet another sheer drop of a few hundred metres into a glacier valley which, at the bottom, is completely level from edge to edge of the valley. The mountains at the top of the photo are the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau (I believe.)

I get a great feeling of flying and freedom when i look at this photo. Freedom in some fantasy world locked deep within my mind. Colours are slightly un-realistic. Red hues were off-set the most. I left the rocks/selected this photo with the rocks because i want the viewers eyes to directly go to the bottom of the photo, then work their way up.

I really like this piece. Great colors - yes very unrealistic looking, almost as if it were painted. But it gives me a feeling of escapeism. I like it very much. Nice work.

That's awesome! It's so pretty and the colors are great. The angle it was taken in gives me the idea I'm about to fall or something. Lol. It does give me the idea of flying too. No mountains like that here in Southern California. Definently not that green at least. =P ^_^

i can see the "gondela" over there in mid air, on its way down, or up. i'd be too scared to ride, afraid of heights... :fear:
i bet that is amazing to behold in real life! :excited:

hahaha. "on her majesty's secret service" was filmed there, of course :P, and, being a bond freak, i don't even like that movie!... so, bad movie, but awesome shot :). your use of the foreground and background here is very interesting. i like it.

Beautiful beautiful landscape. Makes me want to see some real mountains again, haven't been hiking for a while. I love how you not just captured the mountain, but also the village and the rocks and grass at the bottom of the photo, it really gives it depth rather than isolating one particular element only.
