With this photo, I attempt to show my viewer the complexity in seemingly simple things. On first glance, flowers are pretty basic, though beautiful things of nature. On closer examination, a single flower reveals much more complexity than any first glance can reveal. I would like to share this experience with my viewer by sharing this photograph and this series.

In part two of this series the flower is in its natural surroundings. Part two was photographed a day before part one, but was edited after part one, hence it now being part two to this series. The photographs in part two were taken right after a quick but heavy thunderstorm.

The colours are 100% realistic with very little added saturation. The photograph has not been edited beyond the camera raw file.

Personally, I am rather fond of the photographs in this series. I hope that you will critique this photo thoroughly with my intentions in mind. I hope you enjoy it!

Photo #4, Part two of a two part series of 4 photographs. This photo completes this series.

Other photos in this series:

#2a Allureiticali
#3b Allureaticala

NIce work. The one drop of water coming off it adds so much more to it! Great timing

This is stunning. Besides the detail you've captured and the focus of the picture, one of my favourite part would be the colour. Especially with how the flower gets darker in the middle and fades out to the colour of pickled ginger that I get with sushi. As many before me have said.. the raindrops makes the picture complete. You are an amazing photographer and this series is amazing.

A beautiful photo and a very true description...isn't it funny how one flower can have such a busy life? The unfolding of a flower is amazing...great job at providing a bit of "mind candy"

your explination is very true. wonderul photo- the colors are very vivid. you did a wonderful job with the composition. many macros have the flower or pant straight on, and in the center- but you have in to the side slightly- emphasizing the water droplettes, and also the flowers environment. very professional.

Every photographer has to have a flower in their gallery and yours are among the better I've seen. :) I believe this version is my favorite out of the few you posted. My second favorite would have to be Allureaticala, as that one shows the flower in its entirety. I find this current image to be most pleasing in terms of how close you were able to get and still maintain some semblance of focus... and the focus is billiant. I was first drawn to this image because I could easily make out the reflections of trees/bushes in that large waterdrop. :) Not only is the color scheme of this image pleasing (bright orange flower on dark green background), but you've taken an original approach to photographing a flower. It is off-center and only fills part of the frame with its flame-like beauty. :+fav:

Definately a comment worth of apraisal! There was some content to your comment which was insightful and useful! I thank you very much for your time spent creating this comment, it is greatly appreciated. I wish i could have gotten some shots being even closer to the flower, but my lens just wont allow such a thing... heh. I hate centred subjets! (which makes me y hypocrit, [link]) ;)

Thank you!

This is gorgeous.
I really love shots like this, with raindrops, waterbeads and the like. The color suit eachother so well too... the pinkish/reddish flower against the green background.

Fantastic work!! :D

First off- I must say that this series is gorgeous! This one is my favorite out of the four, but the others are all beautiful by themselves, its amazing how much a talented person can do with just one flower.

Its the contrast between the pink flower and green background that I love about this one in particular. Not only that, but how even though the flower isn't centered (its just that that makes it all the more unique!) the colors are still balanced between the green and pink because of how well the background matches the green at the center of the flower. The focus in the water droplet, and the droplet itsself, add mounds to it compositionaly as well as ascetically. The reflection of the trees is beautiful, and the softness of the flower is perfectly accented by the rain drops.

Beautiful, and wonderfully done!

Wow! Thank you very much! :) Such indepth critique is very much appreciated! Indeed, i do not like to center my subjects in my photographs. It.. bores me to see every subject dead smack in the middle of a photo. I never really noticed the balance between the middle of the flower and the background of this photograph! Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Thank you again, for the critique. Much appreciated. :)

I love the way the vibrant flower is contrasted with the dark, natural background. The details are beautiful and look very natural, and the cropping of this shot is well done.

well. i certainly can't leave your beautiful gallery without faving something.
another great job of balancing the piece with the use of cropping.
and like the heart in one of the previous versions, the drop of water makes
a nice additional accent to this image.

Yea, the water drop is somewhat key to this photograph, i think. My eye is drawn to it almost imediately after i recognize that it's a flower im looking at. Different than with the heart. You sort of have to look for the heart before you see it.. at least, i did..
Thank you for all your insightful comments! :) Much appreciated.
