Seeking Programmer for a 2D Platformer Game!
Hello Everybody!
We are seeking a Lead Programmer for a 2D Platformer based Video Game Project!
Firstly, let me tell you a little about this project.
This game is under the codename ‘Project Ace’. This is a 2D Platformer based action game that’s to bring back the charm of 2D sidescrolling games from the old days and much more! You can run, jump, and attack your way through challenging levels. Different characters grant unique gameplay styles, each sporting different skills that can help you throughout the levels and even allow you to discover treasure, or secret paths! Reaching the end of the level isn’t your only objective, however, every level is filled with several secret treasures along the way that would just love it if you picked them up, the levels can be fairly expansive encouraging the player to explore their surroundings.
The game stars Ace, a young treasure hunter that aims to travel the lands to find all sorts of amazing treasures, a series of events points her to seek out a famed, legendary treasure capable of granting any wish. It would seem she isn’t the only one out to find it though…
Now about what we look for in a programmer:
What we are seeking is a Programmer, capable of working in a 2D environment with vast knowledge in programming languages such as C++, Python, or GML, etc.
Compensation for your work will be paid with the funding from the Kickstarter campaign.

How much of the game play design and mechanics are done?
At what point will you start the kickstarter? How much content/demo will have first?
We have only a few people on the team right now.
Target platform we want to start with PC and hopefully through kickstarter stretch goals we can port to Wii U and/or 3DS via e-shop channel.
Right now only the concepts for how the game will play and control are made, we had something for an engine done but we've decided to start over from scratch back to square 1 because not a lot of progress was made and that one was like beating a dead horse.
There is no set date for the kickstarter right now, since I'm allowing the programmer to work at their own pace without feeling need to rush too quickly. However I'm sure we can get a demo done by mid 2016 if we work at a normal-ish pace. The content and Demo will have 1 playable character (Hopefully 2 if we can push it) and the demo will have 1 world consisting of a few different levels. I'd like the demo to be able to show how it's World map can function along with maybe 4 or 5 different levels.
