Allow me to introduce myself. An active Deviant for one month, wan't to say Hello :)

Like I written in my profile, first I wan't to say sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand the correct meanings of my sentences! :(
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After one month as an active member of deviantart, I wan't to say a personal hello to all of the deviants out there, and I also hope to found some friends which also interested in art :)

Here are some facts about me:

Name: Thomas Mueller

Age: 28 years

Occupation: Certificate of Apprenticeship as a pastry cooker

Actually I am working for an Internet Shop which sales furniture for the office, industry and gastronomy. I am part of the warehouse crew and our task is to collect the items of an packing list and make them ready for shipping.

Interests: Art, Computer, Gaming (Console), Mobiles, Cycling, Books, Music...

Some other facts you can find in my profile :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've interested in different styles of art, like traditional, digital and photography.

My first contact with art was 2009 after a concert of Mylene Farmer, my target was a handmade memory and so I started the attempt to draw her with a charcoal starter set which I bought sometime :D

But the first tries not really looks like a human face and was full of mistakes :( and my idea to draw pictures was blown away.
But when I listened to her music, I've started some further tries and it made more and more fun and my pictures gets some better and I seen a progress in it.

Today my pictures contain also much mistakes but for me it is a great way to give variety near the job and found the ease of mind.

And if there is some time, my aim for the future is to increase my experience in the different ways of art.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some facts about my current residence. I am living in Germany / Thuringia. My hometown is called Kloster Vessra and we have a population of 350 people and around us there are many woods and other small towns and villages. So there is a much of nature and all of them are sleepy places :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this should be enough for the first introduction, if there are any questions feel free to contact me :) and thank you very much for reading the complete text.

Greetings and all the best!
Chamathe aka Thomas

hahaha, about that starting to draw part, i totally understand how that feels XD. I used to really hate drawing, or any other forms of art, cause all my cousins and siblings are so good at it i'm just like... eh... not gonna be as good as them anyways. But then one of my friends taught me, and got me started, i've been really in love with art ever since then XD. well~ its really nice to meet you! Art is kind of a frustrating thing sometimes, but... never give up! -thumbsup!- XD

Hi you're very welcome :)

the problem was that I set my goals much too high, in every picture i've started to draw :)
That was a great mistake I had done, and sometimes also do in present times :(
The most people would say, no one is born a master!

How are you?

Thanks an Hi, hope you are fine :)

Mhh whats my favourite media :D hard to say, for the moment I would think all traditional, I love all the realistic pictures which are drawed with pencil.
But actually I try to finish a digital painted portrait, I have to spend a lot of hours in it, because my target is to train the work with layers in photoshop and painter.
In my first attempts to draw digital, i don't used this function, because i found them confusing. But it gets better now :D

How about you? Traditional right?

PS: I really like you homework diary sketches and your cute avatar :)

Hmm, I think I would agree with you there. Some people do
amazing pencil drawings :nods: I prefer traditional media
too (but only because I'm bad at digital ;p)
That sounds interesting :) How long do you think it will
take to finish it?

Thanks, your avatar looks pretty cool too :)

It depends on my mood how long the picture will take :D
Sometimes i'm frustrated in a few moments, than I start a new try some days later.
So it is hard to say, when i finished them :(

Awesome! I also am a baker! I love decorating cakes. I completed my course in bakery cooking two years ago, and whenever I have some free time, I either draw or bake some yummy desserts ^^
I peeked at your gallery, and I have to say, your drawings aren't bad at all! In fact, they're pretty well done :) I can't draw like this myself lol. Your photos are marvelous, and I totally envy you for being in England. I wish I could go there.
Anyway, have a good time on deviantART :)

Wow some other bakers here on deviant art :) Decorating cakes is really a great fun, but where i worked we made first of all things like bread and bread rolls ( hope the word is the correct one ) every day. So there was no time to be creative. But in the right company it could be a fantastic job with variety :) hope you work in one of that :)

Finally, thank you very much for your words, i really appreciate that!

I've love the job, but after 7 years of working all the night it was enough for me, because there was no time for any hobby :( only sleep and work. That was the reason for me to look for a new job. In my actual job, i have the opportunity to work at daytime, which makes me happy because i have finally time for hobbies.

I like all books with topics like digital painting, photography, HDR photography and all the other art books :)

Hope i have answered you questions. :)

Oh dear... that sucks. =/

That is understandable. I guess it can be very demanding in that sense?

You were good, though, right?

True... but can't you find a place that wants a pastry cooker but.. yeah, has good hours?

Interesting! Why those books?
Reply
:iconchamathe:
chamathe Featured By Owner Mar 27, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
The main reason why the job was so demanding, are the hours which came together on every working day.
On my first job as baker, the standard was 9-10 hours and in november/december it was normal to work 11-12 hours and a few months working 6 days a week.
So there was no time for party, or meet friends. But okay thats life and it's in the past :D
Now there are only 8 hours a day, from monday till friday :)

Normally the pastry cooker start to work later, let's say 4-5 o'clock in the morning, but is hard to find a job as pastry cooker with better working times, because the firms where I worked put pastry cookers on an equal footing with bakers.

For example in my second firm I was employed as pastry cooker, but I made every day the bakers tasks so I go to work at 23:30 in the evening/night.
The woman's made the task of the pastry cooker because the work was not such a stress, they start to work at 5 o'clock in the morning :) I never had a problem with that fact.
The bakers work was partially to hard for them. I wan't to send out my deep respect to all of them which do that job every night!

Why those books? Mhh... first of all to learn some new techniques and approaches to get better pictures and also to get some inspiration :)

What's your job, if you don't mind my asking?

Oh right, I see.

The hours can make a heck of a lot of difference, I guess... It depends on how much it uproots your life and all?

9-10 hours is pretty intense... 11-12 is too much, I think. =/

Damn, 6 days a week? :noes:

Usually it's 8 hours, 5 days a week... was the pay good, though? I mean, what were the benefits of doing that kind of job?

That really sucks. =/

Yeah... do you regret often?

That's good. Plenty of time to party, meet friends and all, right? :la:

Ooh, I see... and yeah, bakers get it tougher. >.<

That's why most of them are old men, I take it? :O

Holy moly. >.<

Ah... women are treated differently? More relaxed? O.o

Yeah, it sounds as if they put in a lot of work... though working regulations should probably change for them. It doesn't seem fair, otherwise. =/

Ooh, does it help a lot? :la:

Well, I'm still studying, but I also do part-time as a bartender... about 10 hours every week.

What was the benefits of the job? Mhh.... that's a good question

The pay wasn't good, and there are no benefits! After the end of my school, in the near area there was not really a much company's which are looking for apprentices.
So I was really happy to found them, also because it was near my residence.

After the first months of my apprenticeship I really regret my decision, because the boss of the company often really was an let's say, bad person.
They scream out nearly every day about mistakes.
But I was a fighter and finished the apprenticeship, without any help of my foreman and the boss because they had all the time something better to do.

When I look back, there was the advantage to get more grown up, so I see the positive in it!
And I don't wan't to moan, because there are many other people on earth which really have/had a bad life :(

The most of them are old men?

No not really, especially in this sector the bosses don't wan't old men/woman, because they are not fast enough :( But in my opinion that's a general problem, which many „older“ people have here.

The working regulations should change for many industries! There are much people out there which are working all the day, but don't earn enough to live with the money and make more and more debts!

Hmm...

Oh, if the pay wasn't good and there were no benefits, then it is really understandable you moved and all. I mean, there's no incentive for you staying there, right? Unless that incentive is fulfilling your passions, but even then you need a limit in terms of how much you can take, otherwise you'll just burn yourself out. =/

Yeah, makes sense! It's good you've got that now. I take it that you will be staying with them for a while?

Oh dear... =/

That really sucks. >.<

Do you know why they scream, though?

Yeah! :highfive:

That's brilliant stuff. It's good you stuck with it... I think that shows a lot of strong will.

Definitely. It's a learning experience for sure.

True, true... I get what you mean. Still, we all have our own problems, don't we? Sure, they may not be as bad, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about it, or express and share it with others. :hmm:

Oh right, I see.

What is the problem that many older people have?

Hmm... how do they even survive? :O
Reply
:iconchamathe:
chamathe Featured By Owner Apr 1, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
Mhh why they scream? Sometimes I thought, he not really know it by itself :D
But I think it was all the stress, because they had to solve all the problems in the company, for example sometimes there was lower sales and he had to react.

After the daily work at night, they slept for 2-3hours and than he was back in company decisions. So he was sometimes overworked, and get his screaming fit :)

In my personal opinion, some industrie bosses only looking for "young blood", because they work faster and get lesser sick in theirs perspectives. Okay in some points they be in the right, but I think older people should get also a chance.

For example my first boss only takes workers under the age of 30, another one all under 40-45 :(

I don't wan't to generalize it to all industries, but there are some of them!

How do they survive?

They buy only the bare necessities, no holidays and so on, especially when they have some kids.

Take every job they can get and the state has to help them, because some of the people really has a very bad pay!

Or they don't find any job and be on the dole and have to count every penny.

These are only some possibilities, the theme is much more complex and I don't wan't overdo things :)
