Another old photo I found while cleaning some files. A stained glass work I completed when my art teacher from high school had spare glass pieces her students weren't using. I gladly took them and made this. Made by gluing the pieces to an existing 16x20 glass panel then filling in with grout. Currently hanging in one of the windows.

Hi Lance!  I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work in a post called Dragons in Stained Glass by Various Artists on my dragon artwork blog (with proper attribution and links back, of course).  I love this piece, and would love to see more of your work posted!  You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here.  Take care!

Quite lovely! What kind of grout did you use? I didn't know you could do stained glass without lead or copper.

I believe it was tiling grout, if I recall correctly. It was one of those where you just add water and apply it. In my case I put black paint with it so it was subdued against the glass. If any grout got on the stained areas, you would just wipe off with a moist cloth. Doing it this way is convenient, fast and super easy. Not to mention cheap.
But the important part is that another solid glass panel is underneath what you see. Grout by itself cannot hold the glass together. So if you want a stained glass image viewable from both sides it is best to stick with the traditional means.

Thanks for asking! :)
