You're welcome mate. Good luck with your new projects, Daz upgrade and Genesis.

Getting used to the new DAZ when I stopped at 2.3 has been very interesting but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I desperately need a better video card to run iRay but I'm afraid of buying anything that isn't NVidia and they are on a wait list - I don't know who else could be trustworthy despite the fact that their tech specs SAY they should work.

I know a lot of people didn't care for Genesis2 exactly because of the time it took to render her, but I'm finding her a fun and very versatile model. I LOVE being able to dial morphs from a multitude of characters together and have clothing nearly always fit without having to go through all the old messing around. It's a learning experience but I am learning and it's being fun.

My more recent excursion was learning how to use the LIE editor to create alternate skins. That's a lot of fun - but it's also weird to discover that a lot of skins that claim they are specifically for Aiko6 are not in fact designed to use her skin zones at all. They look great on Aiko6, but they weren't really designed for her at all. It's weird to read the details and have them say "you must own Aiko6 to use this product" and then you buy it and find that it uses the Genesis2 base material zones. You didn't need Aiko6 at all.

But otherwise I'm doing my usual bit of trying to come up with story ideas that I could do renders of as visual aids, more or less comic book style. And of course trying to design characters that look interesting while trying to write bios for them that would make them interesting to read about.

And as always, thank you for your friendship, it's greatly appreciated. :)

I would imagine that the jump from 2.3 to current is quite difficult, but you'll probably agree that it's worth it. I've just been looking at the DForce functionality and it seems quite impressive.
I'd definitely wait until you can get a NVIDIA card - I'm not convinced that anything else will work. But I think I'm correct in saying that you can use IRAY if you just select the CPU as the Photreal Device on the Render Settings Advanced tab. It'll probably make the PC run quite hot and also slow down anything else you are doing, but it may be worth a try.
I'm in the process of jumping from Genesis 1 to either Genesis 3 or Genesis 8 or both. I used the original Gen X plug in to transfer all of my V4 and M4 characters from V4/M4 to Genesis 1 and it worked really well, so I decided to keep on using G1 for as long as I could. I've bought the Gen X2 plugin and I'm now in the process of moving all the G1 stuff up to G3. It's going to be a tedious process, but hopefully it will be worth it.
I keep looking at the LIE but have never got around to it. Same with IRAY Decal layers and defining an object as a light emitter. I'll get there when I'm ready though.
I have a few new ideas of my own and I'm probably going to close this account down and create 1 or 2 new ones. I'll let you know if it happens - one or other of my new accounts will definitely be watching you :)
