Greetings and welcome to Forgotten-Realms-FC. Here we celebrate the Realms in the varied, vast world it was and should be, completely Spellplague-free. We hope you enjoy your time here.
Featured is for Founder and Co-Founder only. Here we will feature deviations that we feel stand out among the rest.
NPCs is for FR characters already established in the FR universe from before the Spellplague. This does not include NPCs from games such as Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights.
OCs is for characters created by this group's members, whether for the sake of a story or a game. Character sheets go here. Must be related to the Forgotten Realms.
Pairs is for pictures of two characters. They don't have to be romantically involved with each other.
Groups is for pictures of more than two characters.
Creatures is for the many creatures found in Faerûn, Kara-Tur, Maztica and Zakhara.
Literature is for any kind of FR fiction writing, from poems to fanfictions.
Comics and Memes is for any kind of FR story in comic style and art memes/challenges related to 1st to 3.5 edition FR.
References, Resources and Realmslore is for information about the Forgotten Realms as well as original content created by the members. Alphabet references and the likes go here. For more information, look here: fav.me/d5wh5vv
Deities is for artwork depicting the many gods and goddesses of the FR universe. This includes holy symbols.
Places and landscapes is for artwork of various cities, the wilderness of Faerûn or some peculiar sites that can be found only in the FR universe (such as the Great Glacier or the flying city of Shade).
Game NPCs is for artwork of NPCs from games. This folder is for the deviations that don't go to the NPCs folder.
Arts and Crafts and Cosplay is for miniatures, props and other craftsmanship related to retro-FR, also including cosplay.
Animations, stamps, icons and logos is for anything related to retro-FR that falls under this type of art form.
This group is for fans only. Haters or bashers of the Forgotten Realms can take their business elsewhere.
No 4th edition or post-Spellplague artwork or stories. This includes monsters and official stories specific to 4th edition and post-Spellplague Faerûn.
The artwork must be of intermediate level or higher. This goes for literature and Arts & Crafts as well. Stamps and animations can be simple, but should still show a certain level of dedication put into the work. Cosplay pieces must show dedication and preciseness, with good display of understanding the characters.
No tracing, colouring of screen captures, bases or WIPs, please. Anyone found guilty of character theft or art theft will be banned from this group without warning and reported to the dA police. This goes for altered portraits from games, books and other copyrighted material as well. No motivational or demotivational posters, photomanipulations or screenshots. No sketch dumps. Preview images for stories must come with permission from the original artist and proper credits - unless you drew it yourself. No dress up game pictures. Deviations put in storage will be removed from the gallery.
No fantasy "armour" for either men or women, please. We accept only the realistic kind, which means no chainmail bikinis, boob plates or exaggerated armour parts that not even a bodybuilder can wear without falling over. Some lenience is given for Game NPCs, seeing as their designs are pretty much set in stone, and in non-battle situations or when wearing leather armour, showing a bit of skin is perfectly fine. Just keep in mind the common sense with surroundings, situations and circumstances and what it is you're putting on your character. Play around with fabric all you want, but make sure that the armour looks both practical and comfortable - like armour should. (Leather or chain rings directly pressing against the skin don't count as either.)
No characters from other fandoms or other D&D campaigns, including original, self-made ones. No weird hybrids of FR and other worlds, including homebrew. This group is for Forgotten Realms, not D&D in general. Adding a character from FR to the artwork doesn't count, either. About OCs: If we're not familiar with your character already, make sure you add at least 2 - 3 sentences worth of description of the character, especially his/her connection to the Forgotten Realms and his/her name. Unnamed characters go to the Creatures folder. No furries. We accept lycanthropes, extraplanar creatures that look like animals and anything else found among the official monsters that are animal-related, but pure furries are a no-no.
Kindly refrain from using our group as a place to advertise yourself. Spamming will be met with zero tolerance and the person might possibly be blocked. If you have anything FR-related that could use some advertisement, like a story, a group, a contest or something else, please send us a group note with the details and we'll look it over.
Concerning declined submissions: Please don't take this personally! Sometimes it happens that we admins can be a little "triggerhappy", and we will quickly do our best to remedy this, but when something clearly violates the rules, we will put our foot down and say no, and that means no. Kindly refrain from insults, name-calling or any other forms of negative and abusive behaviour. It will be fully visible in the admin area and remembered for later reference, in case it happens again. If it repeats itself three times, with no sign of improvement, the member will be removed from the group. Persistence from then on will lead to the person being blocked. Leave the group over declined submissions repeatedly and chances for getting accepted back in are slim, especially if we've accepted your other submissions in the past. This group is not your personal art dump. We operate within the framework of the rules set, both for this group and dA in general, and if your submission doesn't meet them, it will be declined. Also, please remember to submit to the right folder. If you have any questions regarding a declined submission, please ask them on the correspondence message. Thank you.
