Flame Dragon (Origami)

"Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world,
for I would ride with you upon the wind
and dance upon the mountains like a flame!"

-William Butler Yeats

This dragon is made from a single square sheet of painted paper.
I have used filters to alter the colors in photoshop.

The design is from the talented origami artist origami-artist-galen
and a diagram can be found here

Very nice and clever staging (er... I say "mise en scene", in my foreign language), by the way. ;)

I really love this one! probably because Im a big dragon enthusiast but also because I never get over how talented you are! the folds are so clean! I also really like how the whole picture is really warm and remind fire! you did a wonderful job on this all

Thank you very much, that is a very nice comment.

Your folding is so clean! Do you usually fold these in one go or do you do a few practice pieces?
FoldedWilderness's avatar
I almost always do several practice runs with regular paper to get the hang of the model and try out a few things.
Because it takes time to prepare a painted paper (painting, drying, re-cutting) I try to wait till I'm sure I can make a good one before going through the process.

Thanks for the comment and favorite.
