You know that you have really good friends when you receive for your birthday gifts like this one [link] .
This book tells the story of a painted herbary drew in the XIX century by a group of countryside ladies living in Gloucestershire - England. [link]
It was given to me by a dear friend, Federica, as a gift for some birthdays ago: every now and then, when I feel idea-depleted, I skim through its pages in search of new inspiration.

This little flower here - Water avens (Geum rivale) - grows throughout Europe (and even across the Atlantic if I remember well) in humid areas: it has been so appreciated by garderens that new domestic varieties have been selected. here the wiki page for more info [link]
