CONTEST
There's a dragon in my head,
And he's watching me and smiling,
And for sure I do not like this,
For he's thinking of me dying,
There's a selkie just behind,
And she sets my belly roiling,
And although I block my ears,
Her laughter there's no foiling,
There are bane-sidhes in my dreams,
And I'm really getting nervous,
For we all know what they mean,
And they like to sing in chorus,
And the pixies skip round me,
Whenever I dare look away,
Poking, pinching, prodding, prodding,
With fingers sharp and fey,
I wondered how a dragon smiles,
With jaws so full of teeth,
But I can live without knowing,
Of the gullet that lies beneath...
Entries!
There's a harpy in my eyes
and she's uglier than sin
but she takes a pretty guise
and tempts me from within
pegacorna2
The sounds of claws across the glass
Titter softly through my sleep
While dragons breath fogs up the night
As across the road it creeps.
MadMikkie
His teeth are so sharp,
his scales so defined.
While his breath stays hot,
his eyes stay kind.
Desopilar Random winner
A caterpillar stands out bold and clear
Against the moonlight gloom
While Dragon pauses, glances now
And tempts me to my doom
MadMikkie 1st place
A flower fairy showers me
with petals light as air
Distracting me while all her friends
tie elf-knots in my hair
Brigaurdylian772nd place
I wondered if a dragon cries,
of what sorrows he would speak,
his scaley mouth a sharp toothed frown,
tears like diamonds on his cheek.
Aseamlessbond3rd place
Sirens sing their subduing tune
Loudly into my head
I cannot escape their call
Nor can I escape the dread
Nickelpat
my head is now dizzy
my hands begin to shake.
the demons surround me,
there's tablets i need to take.
KNOTTBOLD
A mermaid floats serenely by
and offers me her hand,
I tremble at the knowledge
that she'll drown me if she can

Loss, in Five Acts
i. Return Through a dark tunnel
of bent birch and cedar I walk.
Soft moss on cobblestone. Home. The tilted bird bath drips with
tea coloured rain. Vines snake up
old walls even as the sandstone crumbles.Decaying gutters sag with sad, welcoming
smiles, heavy with dead leaves
and the fallout of terracotta tiles. ii. Memory On her lap, in the evening, swinging
on the front porch chair. Humming
a lullaby, she whispers softly andmarks with a brush of her ringless finger,
magpie and minor, chicken and hen
and then, soft kisses on my cheek for bed.At the bus stop, she is squinting and waving
and waiting. At hometime, she is feeding the
pigeons e...

your voice shivers through
me like breezes shaking
time-worn boughs(and I cannot
resist that
ancient call)slide your whispers
along skin, let them
sink deep as bonebreathe my name,
a fervent, sighing
psalmand I will lift my
face to your sun and
unfurl my limbssinging like new leaves
dancing in the
warm winds
of spring

Wrote this on Christmas Day when my internet was down... wrote about eight poems, plus scraps actually.
This one isn't great but it bounces.
(tip - bane-sidhe = banshee. I just want to spell it the older way, because it looks 'right'
)
Crit is good; I think all the line syllables match, not sure about the actual beat in places though.
Hmmm... also, if I get four or more verses following on, I'll do a journal feature. Preferably from different people.
Yes. You heard me.
