A 60 ton quickdraw mech standing guard on a street corner someplace named samantha in the taurian concordat. Was another quarter pager for the battletech field manual periphery book under catalyst game labs.

Along with the StarCorps Dossiers cover, this is one of my favorite "what it's like to be around these monsters" BattleTech scenes.  I love getting the street level view of life in the BattleTech universe.

Kind of wish the Current MWO model was more like this version. Looks so much more like a mobile, agile Heavy it's supposed to be. Well, it would probably be alright, if they decided to reduce its size, because currently it dwarfs some of the Assaults.

Taurnians aren't paranoid. They KNOW everyone's out to get them.

Awesome work, and probably the best art of the Quickdraw ever.

Wow, this is giving me Mechwarrior nostalgia, makes me want to play it again... :D
I agree with everyone else here, I always thought the Quickdraw was ugly, but here it's worth beholding.

How do you get gigs doing illustration? Do you have an agent that represents you and finds you work? Or do you have to go out and do it yourself?

little bit of a, little bit of b.

I did some illustrations for Mike V. for cthulhutech some years back, and he invited me that year to come to gencon. At the time his company had partnered up with catalyst and was sharing the booth. I was lucky enough to have taken my laptop and wacom with me, and drew some mech stuff on the spot. Catalyst liked my stuff, and within a few months i was doing stuff for them too. Everything since has been either additional work for them, or other projects that spring up out of nowhere and contact me because of my gallery here or other work they've seen in print. So more than anything, luck, but also putting yourself at the right place and time i guess.

Well, in case of attack this guard will turn the district into pile of lifeless trash with his missile launchers. It's not a guard mech in any case =D

Wow, the quickdraw is like, the ugliest mech ever, but here it actually looks good. Amazing work!
