Seller of Equality
I am the dog
I am the fuel line capillary
Sent to bring what I can to burning
I am the bones
Elephant mind in the grave yard
Half elated by the facet of this home
I’m the rattle of the stones
The sound of feet on the frozen snow
Where sky comes to the ocean
And burns the ground
A cloudy frost for the get around
Oooo now I’m gonna crystallize
Granulize and get inhaled inside
Blood stream and scraped knees
Tight skin and nose bleeds
Exhaled from your lungs
The bangers of guns
Smug anger blackened white
I am your vocal chords
When you cry
With malice and delight
I’m the stubborn banker nature
The cold hand of a john
The boys in Thailand’s
Masters call
The unholy wrath of god
Well I am greed
I’m the viscosity
I am all the things we take to heart
That just
Tear us apart
The death dealer
The seller of equality
The debtors knell
The hanger and the knife
A list of things
And when god loses your faith
I am king
I’m the seller of equality
And it’s free

The Bridge
The Bridge  6/8/08
The image is so clear in my mind.
The sounds around faded to
a shadow of a whisper.
Your face the only color in
a world of black and white.
I remember the exact time
our connection solidified.
The chasm was looming and
vast before our distant eyes.
Day after day we built the Bridge.
Slowly we gave in to the obvious.
You gave yourself to me.
Two lost souls planted firmly
on the Bridge of destiny.
As we rose, intertwined, towards
the inky night.
We formed a helix of comfort and trust above
our Bridge of chaos, mistakes, and triumph.
We made a promise to always be true.
I kept mine.
The day the Bridge began to crumble
I could have lost my mind.
You would not look at me as
the rain pounded our resolve.
I asked a simple question waiting for
the reply, "What happened to forever?"
The thunder rolled through our hearts
and the silence was a deafening answer.
As we parted, the clouds broke open
to reveal the waning sun....trying
one last time to overpower the storm.

As darkness falls upon day,
I lay weary,
Eyes barely dreary,
Mind reeling.
Into the long hours of the night,
Isolation embraces,
Spoken in fluent tongues.
Self conviction defeats moral reasoning,
Leaving behind nothing but absolute despondency.
All this be utterly photographic,
To the point of rumination,
Merely over the lack of your presence.
What shall it take to be rid of this apparition?
For the surreal existence only beckons,
And never forsakes.

Empty Soul
Absence is a presence
That manifests
Into an incurable itch.
That torments and taunts
With the impossibility
Of scratching something.

Saying Goodbye to Farewells
Saying Goodbye to Farewells
The early morning was crisp and solemn.
Sun beams trickled through
the wind blown, naked trees.
White snow fell lightly on the
steaming train.
"I will not say goodbye, I refuse,"
she said through bitter tears.
"I will not beg you to stay,
it's not my way."
He searched for the right words
to ease her anguish.
How could he explain this course
and divorce their bond so clean?
Her breaths were short and fast
as he embraced her tightly.
She did not resist, but held on
as though she would fall from
great heights.
The train billowed its last whistle
and the steam spiraled into
the white sky.
"Remember me fondly," was
all he said.
He lifted her soft chin and looked
deep into her for just a flash.
Their past seemed on a path to
this very moment.
She looked away as he turned to
board the train that would take
him away forever.
The snowflakes drifted down and
melted her resentment,
cleared her thoughts,
and kept her sane.
Memories prodded and nudged
as she was
