This is a dynamic new approach to the old 'panties between the legs' shot. It succeeds for several reasons. First, the strong graphic elements draw the views attention. The dark foreground and use of selective focus give the boots a formidable presence, while the frilly red lace panties suspended between the legs infer a completely different story. Most viewers would almost immediately visualize what lies above, or at least attempt to do so. The textural differences between lace and leather mirror the contextual contrasts as well. The subject seems to be standing on the edge of a abandoned building, their back to the urban landscape below, lending the image a strong sense of pathos. The composition is a bit unbalanced, but effective. The only element I feel detracts is the brightness of the sky to the right edge. Overall, this is a strong image on many levels.
