Deviation Actions
Aloha everyone.
For those who don't know how these work, these Memo journals are basically my indicator from me to you that I'm still active (for the most part) and to inform you of anything that might have come up that will affect my posting schedule (however erratic it is).
So yeah, I haven't been posting these update journals for a while; mostly on the lines of that not much has really happened since then.
Current events (aka "Real Life")
Full-time job
Basically, more potential interviews and things getting busier. Not much I can really say.
Least we have another person in the laboratory helping with the tests, because obviously I cannot be in two places at the same time (if I'm doing field work and need to do lab stuff). Still need to train them on some other tests, but those are the more difficult ones and I think it's better to show them a bit more before letting them take the reins. Or actually, let's allow them to do it but I watch them to fill in. (Of course, I'm still not perfect either)
Other things
Still working on getting the elusive driver's license.
Yeah, I feel like Spongebob now, but I'm not giving up. Just need to get lucky / find appointment next week (when I can retake).
YCM return
If I haven't made reference to this a bunch of times by now, yeah, I'm technically a retired YCM moderator, though I'm not exactly thrilled with some of the stuff that happened in the later part of it. Ergo, there's a few things that I really want people to forget about at this point (and frankly, so do I). I left in mid-December 2018 to focus on my academic career, and yeah, salvage my sanity because it was becoming a shit show on YCM during the later mod period.
Now that I'm older, graduated from college and getting my real life in order, maybe I can stop on by and tie up some loose ends. (Yes, BDS, part of this is due to you badgering me on Discord about the broken spoiler code on my sig)
Probably need to be reassured that the drama starters from back in the day either no longer exist, or things have settled down dramatically, to the point I can probably come back safely and just enjoy life again. Let's be honest, when I retired in 2018, that was intended to be the last of it.
Basically...I'm mulling going back over there for card stuff, considering I really do need someone to CnC my stuff again. Post-retirement, not really much avenues to show off things. I post my stuff here, but...they probably get flooded out by some other designers who aren't as great (no offense...)
Would I want a second chance at being a mod, if given opportunity? I want to say yes, but unlike my college days, my schedule as of now is variable and I might not be able to devote the necessary time. And yeah, there is the issue of certain oldies complaining about stuff again, but everyone must remember that whatever happened back then BELONGS IN THE PAST. They would be shallow minded to believe that I haven't changed over the past 3 1/2 years (give/take a couple weeks).

Current projects
This is probably what you're here for anyway, so let's lay them out.
Legacy artwork
Mostly stuff from custom archetypes I have made and/or stuff for real life ones I actually play or have interest in.
These might be more attractive since they pertain to stuff that already exists (for the latter) and you know what to expect for them.
Let's be honest, I have a fair amount of backlog to do for this.

Probably need to post them now, since the art/cards have been long completed for a while.
Might be in tandem with the below one.

Uploading cards to DuelingBook
Still considering this from last time, but probably need to be convinced that DB staff are competent and can be fair/impartial when handling situations. Some people I know on another Discord claim that the communities can moderate themselves, but given my experience with YCM and elsewhere, some of them really cannot.
Only issues I could foresee is maybe artwork triggering certain members who have unusually high sensitivities. I hate wording it this way, but yeah, there are a few people who are like this. All of the pics I've posted so far should be perfectly acceptable under the reasonable person standard.
Custom blanks
This is an idea that I'm probably floating around for community engagement; basically, I post a card with pictures and maybe a card type; you guys figure out the rest.
Granted, you're more than welcome to already do this in the custom images I post, but...most of them already belong to cards I uploaded.

Also a friendly reminder, you are allowed to use the pics I uploaded for existing stuff for your own cards. I honestly am interested in what kind of ideas you come up with.
Tentative / last resort?
Yeah, I'm basically doing Diver Vulpine. For those of you not familiar with the super archetype this will belong to, please check Diver Deer and Equine. Essentially, they're anthro foxes with the same design aesthetic.
Artwork will be posted on the Diver Deer Sakura account, but cards will be on this one.
IDK if I want to write a storyline akin to Master Guide 6 or something to explain things, considering there isn't much to show that links together. Only thing is probably just them reenacting the current scenario we're facing with COVID-19.

Also somewhat torn as to whether I resume posting the arts on this account as well, in addition to Diver Deer Sakura's. In context, it'd make more sense to have the cards and pics linked, but given the aesthetic, I do not wish to attract the wrong people to my content.
Don't get me wrong, I actually made cards based on the art that is on the alternate account but not here. Let me know if you want me to post the cards here otherwise.
Finishing up
So yeah, thank you to everyone who either favorited my stuff and/or began watching me since the last journal. I know some of you have stopped watching (or came on), and I admit that I cannot satisfy everyone. For those of you who have started watching since last time, thank you.
If I don't thank you individually, please note that I really am grateful for your support, even if I don't say it.
For those of you who I fave/watch, yeah, I do look at your stuff even if I don't actually say anything or fave. Reminder: I am an engineer by profession/education, so I am not really good at grading at artistic stuff. While I could drop words of encouragement, past experiences and observations with people who react negatively to it (and want actual CnC or something) deter me from it.
For those of you who I've faved, but not watched, trying to keep my following list low so I can give enough attention to everyone, and not get overloaded.
