Reminder: Holiday Card Exchange! :D
The holidays are upon us if you can believe it! I posted this before, but in case anyone missed it or forgot I figured I'd post it again! To celebrate the holidays with all my friends I've decided to do a holiday card exchange! Basically, if you'd like to get a holiday card from me I'll be glad to send one out in exchange for one from you! Just note me with your name (real or alias if you'd prefer!) and address and I will send you mine in return -- it's as easy as that! This is not restricted to US residents only either -- I'd be more than happy to exchange cards with anyone anywhere in the world! Deadline to send out cards is, of cou

Glad to see that you're feeling a lot better! I got back from vacation and found out that you've been a LOT more active than I've been! :D

Haha, yes, well now that I'm feeling better I've decided to start a serious exercise regiment! I can't run (tried that, regretted it, paid for it with a week of pain and being unable to walk without a compression sock) but I can walk at least! Doing the Run for the Horses 5k race in the morning -- walking of course and will probably be dead last again, but I'm doing it! Weather permitting, my plan is to do a walk every day Monday through Friday and work my way up to doing 3 miles at least two to three times per week and a mile and a half to two miles on the other two days with weekends being my rest days. I've also cut out the soda (except when I go out) and am making my own iced tea to drink instead so I can control the amount of sugar in it. Time to try to get fit! :D

I have to refuel when I do long walks. High metabolism + Hypoglycemia makes me get hungry fast when I exert myself.

Oh definitely, gotta take care of yourself! Me, I have to wear a compression sock when I walk to give my ankle support so it doesn't cave on me and walking the track at the base gives me the ability to quit at any time should it do so.

Fizzy, you may be sensitive to Gluten, but I am sensitive to something that's just about everywhere: Soy.

Same is true for my mom and sister.

Mom and I tried staying away from it for a while, but it was nearly impossible. Thankfully up here in Boulder the air is clean enough so that my body does not feel overwhelmed enough to start jumping at shadows.

Oh, trust me, my friend, I KNOW. I can't have soy either. It makes me very sick. The gluten is just the latest in a LONG line of digestive issues I have. I can't have gluten, soy, most vegetables, ANY cooked vegetable, chocolate, orange juice/concentrated citrus, and so on and so on. The list is practically a mile long. That's why going gluten free is an even bigger problem for me because I already had a very short list of things I could eat and that list just got cut in half again... Finding a restaurant I could eat at was a problem before I was diagnosed with celiac disease; now it's even harder. I'm really not kidding when I say that 9 times out of 10 the only thing on the menu I can eat is THE most basic salad in existence. Just lettuce and dressing half the time, maybe a little cheese, carrots and tomatoes if I'm lucky. Heaven forbid I ever touch a crouton so I'll have to carry my own everywhere I go... I even have to be careful about the dressing!!! Thank goodness most Caesar dressings are OK, or blue cheese, or Italian. Gluten free pizza tastes like cardboard and that's usually the only other option -- if there is one! I can't even have anything but salad at the Olive Garden because -- surprise!!! -- they add gluten to their alfredo sauce and I can't have their gluten free pasta sauce because -- no surprise -- there's onions and peppers all through it, which I can't touch with a 10 foot pole. So again, salad. Salad, salad, and more salad. I am not a rabbit! *Takes a deep breath as she starts to turn red, then turns slowly back to purple* I did this for 3 months and hated every second of it. I don't look forward to a lifetime of this... :XD:

Fizzy... *I hug you* Stay strong my friend. Just keep looking for the 'cupcakes and rainbows', I'm sure they are there, somewhere.
