very cold, calculating, self-isolating, and haughty. unfortunately, she's a LOT like starlight in her more immoral and manipulative days, and despite her moms' attempts at helping her see the consequences of her actions, she's not keen on changing her ways. luster is an experimental magical scientist; she basically attempts different combinations of spells and tries to create new ones that are more efficient or stronger. this results in her pushing herself beyond her physical limits with magic sometimes, or even experimenting on living things...

luster is an excellent presenter and an absolute hit with magical science-related media groups. she is fantastic at putting on a mask in front of her audiences and appearing charismatic and moral. she lives in ponyville with her moms and morning glory, but travels to canterlot quite a bit on business trips (also to get away from them).

her relationship with her brother is a little strained. the two are on the same page in terms of thriving in their immorality and dislike of their moms' friendship mindsets, which they think are ineffective. its way easier and a lot more fun to manipulate and do whatever you want, yknow? however, they're not entirely exempt from each others' tricks and end up pissing each other off pretty often since they know each other so well & know when they're being duped.

luster has also been contacted a few times by a strange crystalline mare who she has vague memories of as a filly, but who has been absent from her life since then. she's trying to keep a low profile, but has a lot of issues with uncontrollable magic and wants to meet with luster soon...
