Description
This is my entry for 's current contest: [link]
I first attempted to do a different picture, with a more realistic style, instead of cartoon. But I realized it was too difficult for me to pull through with - I'm not that good as a real-to-life artist yet.
So I changed my mind and did this picture instead. It simply portrays me in the hospital bed when I got my epilepsy diagnosis from the doctors, back in 2006, and my thoughts and feelings about the whole situation.
(and yeah, I know the scratch on my cheek is a bit over-dramatized, but sometimes you have to exaggerate your pictures a bit; it makes good art)
Wish me luck in the contest now, guys!

Very beautiful work here, it really captures what one feels when they receive the diagnosis of a chronic disease that will never go fully away. And how one’s life will forever change.
I hope you’re doing okay now though.
For me, it wasn’t epilepsy but Ulcerative Colitis. I’m in a better place now but after it came on my life has changed forever as well.
