Gym Shaving Vs Smart Strategy

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 23, 2018, 10:25 AM
This is a guide to help Pokemon Go players understand what gym shaving is and what it isn't. Simply put, it it isn't gym shaving, GET THE HELL OVER IT!

There are TWO variations of gym shaving. TWO! The first is creating an alternate account of a separate team to battle one player only to vacate a spot for your main account to get extra money.

The second form is creating an alternate account to battle specific players and vacate a spot for friends on the team your main account to help them get extra money.

Although technically legal, it's not courteous and violates basic player respect and etiquette.

So what isn't gym shaving?

If you fight one player at a time and knock them out one by one to change the gym to your team, this is not gym shaving, it's a legitimate strategy. If you are offended by players doing this to be quick and prevent you from berrying your pokemon, too bad so sad. If this bothers you, you really need to remind yourself that it's just a game.

What are some illegal practices in Pokemon Go that you should avoid?

Location spoofing. This is the practice of using a third party app to teleport to other places on a joystick. THIS IS CHEATING.

Botting. Botting is the use of third party apps to help catch rare spawns for you. THIS IS CHEATING.

IV checking. Using third party apps to determine the exact IV of a pokemon. THIS IS CHEATING.

Gym shaving. The practice of using alternate accounts to vacate spots in gyms for yourself or friends for extra money. THIS IS CHEATING.

Paying other people to catch pokemon for you or catching pokemon for friends. THIS IS CHEATING.

All other in game strategies not listed here are 100% legal and fair game. I hope this helps players understand what counts as a legitimately serious offense in Pokemon Go, what is considered a minor annoyance, and what is legitimately acceptable.

When you cheat in Pokemon Go, you risk

1. a week long shadow ban

2. A month long suspension

3. A permanent ban

Play safely and play respectfully.

on a lighter note, I've finally completed my gen 1 pokedex including regionals and this was all done through determination and grinding. If I can do it, you can do it too. Happy catching

What Are My Social Media Handles?

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 9, 2018, 9:20 PM
I go by three.

FireNationPhoenix- Deviantart, Youtube, Instagram

TheAmericanKorra: Tumblr

MajinKorra: Twitter, Discord, Pokemon Go

No I don't do Facebook, I'm more of an Instagram person. I don't do follow baiting(follow then unfollow) because I find it rude and self centered and I usually block anyone who does it. Twitter is really the only place I follow celebrities and discuss politics.

So what is the meaning behind the "check eBay" quote in my comments? Well, it's a quote from an old social media rival that I just happen to find funny XD. I do shop on ebay for pretty much anything so it's true.

So what are some of your other handles? Are you considering changing your current dA handle?

Book Review: Rules!

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 9, 2018, 4:48 PM
The autism parent narrative, they are quite common but also incredibly atrocious. People have even created an entire hashtag devoted to resisting To Siri With Love. But what about a story where the neurotypcal bigot actually learns something and is presented as the antagonist? That's where Rules comes in. This story is not like the typical autism narrative. The focus is on Katherine, a martyr sibling who absolutely despises her autistic brother to the point where she pretends he doesn't exist and overbearingly nitpicks and controls everything the child says and does. She's unlikable, selfish, and hateful...that is until she falls in love with a boy with cerebral palsy who uses a communication board a la Stephan Hawking. Katherine, still ableist, tries to keep her growing romance with Jason a secret from a popular girl whom she is trying to woo over and impress, but the cat s eventually out of the bag and Katherine must face the fact that HER ableism is what drives people away from her, not her autistic brother or her boyfriend. The lies Katherine fabricates put a strain on her relationship with Jason and her own brother and she goes on a mental journey of learning to accept the beauty of what is in front of you and remember that family always comes first before popularity.

What makes Rules work is the fact that the lead is flawed and has to own up to her faults. She is not presented as a hero for putting up with an autistic brother, she's an asshole who doesn't really understand the meaning of love and long term relationships. She has to come to terms with her own bigotry in order to forge healthier relationships with her brother and lover. In a typical autism narrative, Katherine would be regarded as a savior for attempting to take the autism out of her brother, but here, her parents, her peers, her boyfriend, and teachers outright point out this attitude for what it truly is, despicable. Katherine has to rethink her perspective on everything before she can truly be in a healthy relationship with her brother, and the result is a kinder, accepting sister willing to throw her life on the line for her brother to protect him from the very bigotry she was spewing. Rules is not about autism, it is about acceptance, understanding, and learning. Sometimes what we want in life is not what we need, that is the message of Rules and it is presented beautifully.

Devious Journal Entry

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 7, 2018, 7:34 AM
Some weird facts about me

1. I'm smol. No, I'm really smol ^-^. A guy at Kamehacon brought in a life size Vegeta statue for selfies. Vegeta is 5'3'' which is on the small side for a man. Most people were dwarfing him but he dwarfed me. Actually I'm around Krillin's height so yes, i'm a smol person.

2. I've had some interesting encounters with wild animals. People have even called me lady Coyote Peterson. I don't really do much one on one with wild animals anymore because it's not safe but I've romped with wolves, posed with gators, fed giraffes, trained parrots to fly on command, handled armadillos, swam with dolphins, and even assisted my neighbor with his rescued bobcat Boris. I do not encourage wild animal interaction anymore but it's something I can put on my list of insane crap I've done.

3. I've been hang-gliding. I did it in Wyoming with my cousin and yes, it's terrifying. I've also been hot air ballooning.

4. I have a slight irrational fear of worms and bugs, mostly worms. I just don't like them ok, don't judge me!

5. I got into a twitter war with PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk several years ago over dog euthanasia. I can conclude that she's definitely not normal.

6. I've eaten some pretty strange things. Scorpion on a stick, chicken head, fish brains, sea urchin, bird's nest soup...yeah I'll eat most anything. I'm also the only person in my family that likes vegemite.

7. My friends all call me the celebrity magnet. I've got some really funny celebrity encounter stories. By far the funniest one though was the time I fell on Harrison Ford...no I'm not kidding.

8. I'm a dog person but cats LOVE me for some odd reason.

9. I used to compete in martial arts tournaments. I really miss the hot dogs at the stadium though. Our team was called the Dragon school of martial arts and yes, I'm a black belt.

10. If I could keep any animal from the Voltron series as a pet, I'd definitely take Kova the cat and tote him around on my shoulder. i love that lil guy.

Martyr Relatives

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 6, 2018, 6:58 AM
My brother was a martyr sibling for years, often humiliating me by telling all of his close friends how difficult living with an anxious sister is. Is words were hurtful and unempathetic. It wasn't until he discovered that he himself had a severe panic attack at the Philadelphia airport after a delayed flight that he finally understood what it was like to be me, and our relationship has been so much healthier.

Now here's the truth, you really do not know what it's like to have a mental illness or developmental disability until you experience the symptoms of them yourself. It's impossible to be empathetic unless you experience the same thing yourself but it is very possible to be sympathetic and accepting. I may know what anxiety disorder is like but I'll never know what aspergers or schizophrenia is like so it really isn't right for me to try to compare anxiety to a completely different situation.

We hear a lot about martyr parents who want to cure their kids of mental illness and developmental disability but we often forget that siblings can be ungrateful martyrs too. There is no difference between being kind to a neurotypical and being kind to a neurodivergent(personally, I think it's a nicer term than  mentally ill, special, impaired...you get the idea) but the media will often say otherwise. people in this minority are often painted as burdens that the "normal folk" have to put up with. Siblings who tolerate their minority siblings are often painted as heroes for doing so. You are not a hero, you are a martyr.

Read this account from a sibling of an autistic boy and tell me that it isn't hateful or ungrateful.

"For a painfully honest take on how a special needs child affects other members of the family, listen to this excellent report from National Public Radio, Coping With an Autistic Brother: A Teenager’s Take.

The piece focuses on 15-year-old Marissa Skillings, whose 11-year-old brother Andrew has Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism. Marissa talks about the challenges of living with a brother on the autism spectrum.

He talks nonstop; talking and talking and talking. He’ll tell anybody information about any animal whether they want to hear it or not. People can tell Andrew has a disability….When he gets nervous he moves his hands back and forth.

Having a brother with autism takes a toll on Marissa’s relationship with her parents. Her brother often interrupts and makes it difficult for her to receive attention. Sometimes she stays out as late as her curfew allows so she can avoid time at home.

I come home and deal with it when I have to, and when I don’t have to deal with it, I make sure I don’t.

She and her brother tell the story of the time a neighborhood boy picked on Andrew. She chased the bully down the street, cornered the boy and slapped him.

I don’t hate my brother. I’d kill for him. But I could kill him too.

"

This is incredibly common and a sad reality that many with neurotypical siblings face. It breaks me heart that so many people should not be parents yet are anyways. I'm really grateful my brother finally turned his attitude around and started treating me with kindness and love, but siblings should be taught this from day one, not be forced into it by some kind of epiphany. You don't deserve a medal for being related to a neurodivergegnt sibling, you love them, you protect them, and you accept them as they are.

Have any of you ever had to deal with martyr parents or martyr siblings? If you are neurotypical, do you have a sibling with a mental illness or developmental disability?

Mewtwo Day?

Fri Aug 31, 2018, 10:06 AM
Hey guys, thank you so much for the awesome birthday wishes and digital E cards yesterday. It really means a lot. It was a great birthday besides one stupid hiccup with photoshop.

Anyways,

Mewtwo day could be imminent for all players both urban and rural. I'm not a click baiter so I'm not going to say this is actually happening, only that it is possible. With all three global challenges completed, many players are annoyed that europe and asia are the only places safari zones take place other than the one safari zone event in the US with farfetch'd. The developers have been hinting at an ultra bonus for players who did not get to be at the asia/europe events that will go worldwide. Someone suggested that the bonus could be a very small window of time for players of all locations to raid for a mewtwo. I doubt that is what will be happening because that would be too generous by niantic standards. Do you think this mewtwo day thing is possible? Why or why not?

My Birthday is Coming Up

Sun Aug 26, 2018, 9:47 AM
Hey guys,

I don't know if Niantic knows my birthday is coming because I've been running into shiny after shiny with all my raid partners giving me dirty looks and I am just like...why?

Anyways, I'm getting older...again and a week after my birthday, my brother is finally turning 20 an he's nervous about losing his childhood so I've been having to reassure him through it all XD. So here's the list, gotta have the birthday list...

All your wonderful messages I get in my comments section each year
My dog to make it to age 14
Some shrimp ramen
anything that has to do with Vegeta
My other dog to quit barking at everyone that comes in the door
To pass my exams
To graduate on time
A drawing of a shiny Ho-Oh
Donald Trump to stop tweeting
Chris Sabat to do my youtube outro
Some food
A GODDAMN EX RAID PASS!!!

So yeah my birthday is coming and I'm exited. My grandmother is flying up to Dallas from Chicago to visit me which she usually doesn't do so that's a plus. I also might go visit my brother in Philadelphia at some point. Have a good one guys,

Phoenix out :salute:

Top 10 Helpful Hints for Pokemon Go Gameplay

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 25, 2018, 1:16 PM
Pokemon Go is getting more and more fair everyday. Niantic is pushing for a game that further embraces equality, something that it completely lacked when it first came around. That said, there are still plenty of privileges for certain players depending on team, catch rate and yes, location. Here are some ways you can progress in Pokemon Go that are 100% legal and don't involve any kind of cheating and spoofing. Here we go.

10. Choose your team wisely. When you join a team in Pokemon Go, you are joining a group of people with a certain ideological mindset. Are you a fighter, a scholar or a maverick? Team Mystic is the best choice for those who enjoy research and deep thinking. If you are more of a fighter than a scholar, join Team Valor. Are you unique maverick? Team Instinct is for you. Choosing the right team for you is the first step in Pokemon Go success.

9. Use public transportation or drive to locations that have more pokemon. If you don't live near a city, plan a special road trip with some friends to do some sightseeing at your nearest city, you will find plenty of Pokemon this way. Driving and using public trains and ride share apps make accessing more crowded locations so much easier.

8. Seize the opportunity for regional exclusives when at all possible. If your family invites you on a trip to another country, GO! If you can't travel nor are any family or friends traveling, be patient. Regional exclusives are sometimes used as event pokemon so always keep up with news on the game for any such events, they do happen once or twice a year.

7. Catch common pokemon. They may be annoying but they are crucial for stardust. The more stardust you have, the more currency you have for trades with friends. Common pokemon are extremely useful for stardust farming and the more stardust you have, the more trades you can do.

6. Explore your area. Contrary to what the big name youtubers will have you believe, you don't have to live in California to be happy and successful in this game. You can progress anywhere. There's a guy on youtube who lives in remote Alaska and has every pokemon in the game thus far, and he did not have to travel to the mainland to do this. Look for online forums and discussions specific to where you live and find out what creatures are nesting in your area. There are plenty of hidden rural gems all around the world. Ephraim Wisconsin is a rural farm town that just so happens to be a dratini nest(and it has one of the best burger diners in the country). I've been all around this country and i can confirm that California is overhyped(the best thing I caught in Los Angeles was a wild Arcanine on day 2 of Anime Expo).

5. Use social media to advertise your account. Put your friend code on a public blog or forum. the more friends you have, the more gifts you can get and the less likely you will be to run out of items. It's a fun and free way to get items without spending a dime at the apple store. If you do get an apple store coupon however, USE THAT THING!

4. DO COMMUNITY DAY! Monthly community days are an excellent opportunity to obtain pseudo legendary and starter pokemon without having to travel to a big city. You don't have to have a ton of pokestops to do this as community day pokemon spawn EVERYWHERE! They typically last about three hours and offer players of all areas to find shinies as well. If you desire something like a dragoniite yet can't travel, wait for a community day event. It's free, it's fun, and 100% guaranteed to help you fill your dex.

3. TRADE! Saving up on all that stardust and making friends gives you discounts at the trading post. Trading with friends is a good way to fill the dex as you can legally obtain regional exclusives without an event this way. Be smart though. Don't do any big trades until you have three months worth of gameplay with friends.

2. Don't listen to the youtubers. Most of them are self absorbed and don't really know what they are talking about when it comes to successful gameplay. While they do offer great tutorials for excellent throws and curveballs, it's best not to take their advice on travel because most of them don't have to worry about financial stress that average everyday people go through. They will often tell you the only way to be successful is to move to the golden state, the land of Lincoln or the empire state. This is very false. The best places to find advice on travel difficulty are on personal blogs and online group chats. These are run by common everyday people with jobs, commitments and restrictions. They struggle in the game just like everyone else and have found some neat ways to progress without resorting to cheating.

1. JOIN DISCORD! My friend introduced me to the chatroom site last year and it's been a send from the gods. Joining discord allows you to link up with people in your area and plan ahead for raids and events together as a team. Legendary raids will be so much easier when planning them on a discord blog. Discord allows people to connect, make friends and play together. You have so many opportunities for powerful raid bosses when finding a group of regulars to battle them with. Discord promotes teamwork and success, the very things Niantic aspires trainers to do. Joining discord is the most important thing you can do for in game success.

Top 5 Ho Oh and Lugia Facts

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 25, 2018, 9:32 AM
Ho Oh is back and I thought it would be fun to look at some of the coolest facts about the Tower Duo.

Ho Oh

5. Ho Oh's name translates to "phoenix king" in Japanese kanji. This will most likely be appreciated by Avatar fans ;)

4. Ho Oh's wingspan is about the size of a two story apartment. Since Ho Oh is 12 feet long, birds tend to have wingspans that are twice their length. Ho Oh is one massive fire turkey.

3. Shiny Ho Oh is always a guaranteed catch in Pokemon Go. If you encounter a shiny after a raid battle, use a pinab berry on it, it's not running away, he wants to be your friend ^-^

2. Ho Oh was the first legendary pokemon seen in the anime and the first gen 2 pokemon to be seen as well. Although he's made cameos, Ho Oh has never been the star of his own movie nor appeared in an episode as a signifiant pokemon. COME ON ALREADY!

1. Ho Oh is based off of the golden pavilion Phoenix in Kyoto. If you ever want to get some good photographs of the temple, get there early, the tourists are like a feeding frenzy there...I found this out the hard way XD

Lugia

5. If you play Pokemon Go, you will catch a Lugia eventually. Lugia is the game's most common event pokemon and it isn't hard to encounter his shiny form either. He's also the mascot of Go Fest so anyone in the Chicago area is pretty much guaranteed one of these things each year.

4. Lugia's theme is played on an instrument called an Ocarina. This instrument is also used by Tapion in Wrath of the Dragon to keep the demon Hirudegarn at bay.

3. Lugia's name is similar to lutetium, a silver element which alludes to it's silver plumage. Yes, Lugia has feathers.

2. Lugia can reproduce in the anime unlike other legendaries. Females tend to stay with their young until they are full grown adults.

1. Lugia is based on the shinto sea dragon god with hints of inspiration from the prehistoric plesiosaur.

Caught Ho Oh...FINALLY!

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 24, 2018, 4:08 PM
I've had crappy luck with Ho Oh raids. Not necessarily battling Ho Oh because he's not that hard to take down, I've had crappy luck with being in the right place at the right time. Every time Ho Oh has been an event Pokemon, I've either been in a foreign country, at my job or some other inconvenience. The ONE TIME I can come to a raid is on a Saturday...after lunch break so only three people came that day DAMMIT! I was originally planning on trading a perfect Latios for one with a friend but then I get a call from her this afternoon. she tells me to "GET THE HELL OUTSIDE HO OH'S BACK!" I'm working on a school thing and I'm like "F ALL OF THAT!" and I make a dash for the student union where the raid is. I had really crappy luck with Latias so I'm nervous. I've been super lucky with fire types, I almost never miss when catching them. A wild charizard spawned outside my apartment last april. Wild charizard are notoriously difficult to catch and I caught mine on the first throw with an ultra ball. I have also caught legendaries without the use of a berry and have never had a moltres run on me. I'm nervous though as Ho Oh is one of those pokemon that should have Hells Bells as his encounter music, HE'S A TANK with a power level of 50,000. In the grand scheme of things, a power level of 50,000 is nothing but in Pokemon, it's massive. So my group and I meet up at the pavilion and we go in to a battle with a weather boosted Ho Oh(It was 103 degrees out today) equipped with Solar Beam. Solar Beam is basically the final flash of pokemon attacks, it takes forever to charge but when it hits you, it will destroy your team. If you have ever played DBZ Budakai, you know just how devastating final flash is in your roster, it cuts right through the other player's team. Solar Beam will slice through any pokemon like they are nothing so dealing with it is tricky. That thing wiped through 10 of my 12 pokemon and we only managed to beat it at the very last second. In short, Ho Oh is a monster. I got some really great rewards out of that raid and tons of rare candy. It's time to catch this birb. People stare at me in shock at how loud I screamed when it turned out my Ho Oh was SHINY! Weather boosted, perfect IV's, shiny? Hell yes let's do this. I throw my first ball which lands on his wing and I'm thinking CRAP HE'S GONNA RUN! Nope, he stays in the ball. He is about 12 feet long, 400lbs and a whole lot of attitude. My first Ho Oh and he's shiny with 100% IV's. My birthday is a few days away so this was the perfect early birthday gift from the Pokemon Go gods XD. Finally!

Also, I've been here blogging and drawing crap on here for 6 years, Thanks for all the good times

Art Plans

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 16, 2018, 5:00 PM
Hey guys,

I go back to college tomorrow and this year, I'll be focusing intensely on preparing to get my masters so I will not be posting as much artwork this year. My friend from work will be moving into my apartment so that's going to be a plus for the year. I have not had the time to complete the fanzine due to work hours but I'll do my best to complete it and have copies up for sale soon. I have the format all set up and all listed artworks all ready to go. On top of the Korra fanzine project, I'll be returning to my roots for a bit and focusing on ATLA fanart. I'll also be competing in the Voltron pets event with a Narti and Kova piece. I plan to create my own greeting card for the holidays and a series of freelance sketches to compile. Yes I'll do some Vegeta/Bulma stuff ^-^. Happy end of summer...maybe XD

I recently uploaded a photo of myself and my friend Alan as Vegeta and Bulma and the response for it has been overwhelmingly positive. Those costumes took us both months to complete and the response to the outcome has really inspired me to get more serious about cosplay. I survived ANIME EXPO!!!

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 6, 2018, 1:43 PM
Anime Expo is coming back for more and I don't know if I'll be heading over or not but I'll decide that once I get my first paycheck of the summer but yeah, last summer I attended the second largest convention in the country with no hiccups and smooth sailing throughout, pretty impressive for my first time going to that thing. I found out that last year's AX had 300,000+ people in attendance...HOLY CRAP! I'm shocked that I was in the building in under 10 minutes because the line stretched all the way to the staples center and just wow. But at one point during the con, I spot a very familiar looking person over on the edge of the cosplayers area and i tell my friend Helen "look over to your left." Over there is the one person I was hoping I would not see, my F-ing internet rival in all her glory. Helen whispers to me "get a selfie with her." So I go up to her and she's completely oblivious to who I am which was a relief and she's all 'GET IN HERE SELFIE TIME!" Helen takes the photo and the two of us run. I sent that photo to all my friends in chicago and to this day, she has no idea that it was me who took that selfie with her...

The Phoenix Court Blog 1: Sean vs Peter

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 2, 2018, 12:28 PM
Hello all and welcome to a new blog series that will look at online drama within fandom culture where you as the viewer will pose as the jury and decide if the accused is guilty or innocent. This blog will focus on drama in professional situations and not target any users on deviantart as it's meant to be sort of fun. Some blogs will be very silly and some will be serious. So here is case 1: Sean vs Peter

The Accused: Sean Schemmel

The Victim: Peter Kelamis

The Case: Back in March there was a flame war going on between Pete Kelamis(the canadian goku) and some other guy who's name has not ever been revealed but everyone seems to think is Sean Schemmel(US Goku). Peter Kelamis was supposed to attend the con but in early march, announced that he would not be attending due to "another actor being directly involved in his removal." Many speculated the perpetrator to be none other than Sean Schemmel but it has never been publicly stated that he in fact, did it.

My Thoughts: Now here's what I have to say about Sean. I liked him. He had a smarmy and witty personality and was pretty friendly. We got along fairly well and I really don't have anything negative to say about the guy. I did get an anxious vibe out of him though, and being someone with anxiety myself, I can fully understand that big crowds and having to sit in the same place doing the same thing over and over again might make someone a bit anxious...no...really anxious. I honestly could not do it myself because I know for a fact that I'd eventually snap.

But what about this flame war? Who really did it? Who is innocent and who is guilty?

Evidence Against Sean: In the letter, Kelamis states that it was another actor that was directly responsible for this. We all know it wasn't Chris Sabat as he's usually the guy who invites the canadian actors to such events, no, Chris wouldn't hurt a fly. The only other guy as influential as him is Schemmel. Both Sean and Peter eventually attended KamehaCon but were on separate floors and had no panels together. Sean was in the same room as Ryo Horikawa who's a sweetheart but gets anxious in big crowds(completely understandable). Why would Schemmel be placed in a separate area of the con? Further evidence to Sean stems from past episodes of such behavior such as refusing to acknowledge MasakoX as another Goku, reluctantly doing a panel with Japanese Goku Masako Nozawa, and reacting sharply to any form of criticism on social media. Strong evidence against Schemmel stems from a tweet by Kelamis three years ago stating that "Another Goku" blocked him. Finally, there has been classified evidence from the community that CarthuDojo on youtube says "definitively points to Sean being the culprit."

Evidence against Peter: On social media things happen. Sometimes people are just out to start shit for attention purposes. This is not the first time Kelamis has started a twitter war with someone. Three years ago, Kelamis publicly started a fight with Schemmel with no evidence of anything from Sean's side. Each time these two have gone toe to toe, Kelamis has been the boy who cried wolf with Sean remaining silent and refusing to get involved. Kelamis tends to be highly opinionated and reactive. If he really is being harassed by Schemmel, he's feeding the troll when posting such content on social media. Scheme never confessed to doing it nor has Kelamis come fourth of who actually is the culprit. Some say Kelamis is just starting this for attention and publicity. With his whistle blowing tendencies, Kelamis sets himself up for skepticism.

The verdict: We really do not know who did it. We many never know until someone says the truth publicly. Where this drama came from is a mystery but one thing is for sure, both sides are flawed and both men have some pride to swallow. I've met both Peter and Sean and they are both sweet boys but obviously something is not right. I will not take sides here as I'm on good terms with both men and they both seem to have a fairly strong friendship since this drama faded but I will still be monitoring their behavior quite closely on social media.

You decide: Who do you think is the culprit? Do you think Schemmel was directly responsible for Kelamis's removal from the con roster? Do you think Kelamis did this for attention? Do you think the perpetrator is someone other than Schemmel? Take the poll now. Thank you for reading, this meeting is adjured.

I've Been Featured on the HotTopic Tumblr Page

Journal Entry: Mon May 28, 2018, 5:46 AM
I'm a regular at my local Hot Topic and have been coming there for years but I never expected them to feature me on their Tumblr. A while back right after Trump got elected, I posted a resistance outcry on my Tumblr that was meant to be a post for my friends who were distraught by the election results. I never thought the thing would go viral but now it has around 25,000 likes and it's still growing. Hot Topic featured the post on their homepage today and I have to say that it means a lot to me that the compony cares that much about minority groups. So not a bad start to the morning.

KamehaCon Story 1: Vegeta

Journal Entry: Thu May 10, 2018, 8:47 PM
I got up at around 6:00 to get into cosplay and drive to Dallas as early as I can because I want to get to the con as early as possible to avoid as much of the insane lines as I could. I came prepared though for Chris Sabat's booth and brought my Japanese flashcards with me in order to practice for the final because I knew his line would be insane no matter what. I had to memorize 90 phrases in a week and my current amount of points in that class at the time of the con was 680 out of 1000. I needed a 120/150 or more to stay in the B range and I did not want any more C's on my report card. I had the cards in my bag and got to Dallas at around 8:00 and met up with my friend Rebecca. We stopped at Brian's booth first(Over 9000! Vegeta) and Rebecca said hello to Pete(Canadian Goku) and we decided to brave the 3 hour wait to see Chris. I came prepared for this and pulled out my study cards. The line barely moved to the point where all of us just sat down on the floor trying to occupy ourselves. Every 30 minutes, Ryo Horikawa would walk by us and he did this a total of 4 times. We'd all wave and chant "RYO RYO RYO!" At one point while we were waiting for the darn line to move, Eric Vale came over to us and tried to have a decent conversation when he decided to make a run for it due to fangirl stalking, I really don't blame him XD.
so here is the more serious part of this story. You guys know I have panic disorder. I have it so bad that I have passed out before from oxygen deprivation. About two hours into my "study", I began to feel anxious for an unknown reason. I started hyperventilating and showing the symptoms of a panic attack. A staff member saw me and his friend came over and handed me a water bottle. He asks me if I'm lightheaded and makes sure I'm mentally all there before instructing me to drink. After I had my water, I relaxed and it dawned on me, I had not been hydrating enough and that was effecting my mental state. The people around me all tried to help me relax and that was when I realized how kind and amazing the DBZ fandom is. I've never felt like people were looking out for me at a con until KamehaCon. There was one man we all called casual Vegeta who offered to help me with my flash cards. When I finally did make it to the end of the rabbit hole that was the Chris Sabat line, I was still visibly shaken up but feeling better. I have to say that I have a lot of respect for people that read their audience. I don't really like doing much interaction with people after I've had a panic attack because when I'm in that vulnerable state, I feel very uneasy and nervous. I was not expecting something like this to happen so I was in no way prepared to deal with meeting Chris Sabat after just calming down from a panic attack. I was still visibly shaking and to be honest, knowing I would be meeting friggin Vegeta in a few minutes was not helpful. The girl behind me literally had to push me forward, that's how nervous I was. I will say this, I've never been this anxious when meeting anyone. Chris initially tried initiating the conversation but took one look at me and decided to wait for me to say something because like I said, I was visibly anxious. I honestly could not say anything. I handed Chris my print for a signature and finally said hello after like a minute of nothing. I turned my back for a minute and from behind me I hear "MY BULMAAAAAAA!" in Vegeta's voice(I was cosplaying Bulma). I turned back around and started cracking up at that. I relaxed a little and handed Chris my phone for the selfie. Chris took my phone and put his arm on me(I was blushing like crazy). Chris then saw my lock screen image of my dog and comments on what a little floof she is and I'm like "Squeeeeee, Vegeta wants my doggo." I thanked Chris for the signature and the selfie and turned to leave when he pulled me back over and hugged me ^-^. I hugged back and then tried to turn and leave a second time when he asked me several more things about my dog(she is irresistibly cute) and then we said our goodbyes and I left to go meet back up with Rebecca.
So that was me meeting Chris Sabat. Yes I was nervous but he was very respectful about it and probably one of the sweetest people I've met. The whole situation with the way everyone responded to my panic attack made me realize what a wonderful fandom the DBZ fandom is. I never felt this safe around any other group of people and I now consider the DBZ fandom to be like a family to me. KamehaCon felt like being in a small town where everyone knew each other. I have more stories from the convention to share but I thought I'd start with this one because wow, that interaction with Chris and the rest of those people in that area made me realize how many good people exist in the DBZ fandom.
