Joe Givens' boyhood dream came true when he worked seven years(1997-2004) in comics as a Senior Colorist for Heroic Age Studios. His digital colors can be found on many DC Comics, Vertigo, and Marvel Comics titles such as: Spider-girl, JLA, Batman, Hawkman, Hourman, Wonder Woman, and so many others. Outside of the studio Joe worked on the Transformers for a few collaborations with Hasbro. Including the notorious "Genesis: The Art of Transformers" hardback art book. In which he had fourteen pieces with various Transformers comic inkers and pencillers.

Back in the day he moderated the colorist boards @ the ComixMatrix.com site. Back when we came across artists like Skottie Young, Mark Brooks, Danimation and more well before they got their first gigs with Marvel. Ahh.. the good ol' Pencil Jack days....

 Since his time working in comics, Joe works full-time as the in-house graphic designer for B&A Screen Printing in Monticello, IL. There he designs everything from custom T-shirts & athletic attire, Ad Specialties for schools & businesses nationwide and abroad. Joe has developed logos, brand identity, web banners, album covers, avatars, comic colors, and more upon request. Give him a shout on email or facebook.
