Majora's Mask

Majora's Mask was made as a Hanukkah gift for my husband and is (embarrassingly) something that I've been planning to make for over two years now.  It is 16" wide by 14" tall and 5" thick without the spikes, or 23" wide by 22" tall with the spikes, and is made with Crimson, Cherry, Pumpkin, Rust, Lemon, Kelly Green, Olive, Azure, Eggplant, Indigo, Black and Ivory minky with some cotton and satin applique. I extensively used both hand and machine applique techniques, some fusing, and painting for details and gradients on the eyes. It makes a lovely squishy (if creepy to keep around the house - I might have to flip it over at night) pillow. I'm a massive fan of the Zelda games (although admittedly Majora's Mask is one of the few games I haven't played, much to my husband's chagrin - it's his favorite. I can't stand having that timer ticking away in the corner!) and had a blast making this thing. The colors and patterns on it are just so fun. I'd love to do more things from the Zelda games!

Happy Holidays to everyone out there!
