The Mermaid from Metropolis

A composite, cover sort of picture for a story that was in Lois Lane #12, commemorating Hawaii's becoming the fiftieth state, (that's why the star arrangement on the flag is different, I imagine; they did it ahead of time and didn't know how exactly the fifty-star one would be) in which, to save her life, Aquaman has Lois turned into a mermaid, and soon his life is in need of saving too.

I loved it; it was a great story and the art so evoked swimming and at night and the water and floating... It reminded me of why when I was younger I wanted so badly to be a mermaid. (And this was NOT because of Disney's Little Mermaid. It was because of Michael Hague's illustrations of Hans Christen Andersen's Little Mermaid.)

I forgot Aquaman's gloves! Oh well! I think the color composition works better this way.
