Summer Sunset

A combination of watercolor, markers, and watercolor markers. Trying to imitate LauraHollingsworth's scribbly luminescent coloring style! But again I am reminded of how the scanner makes things look so much worse.

I was listening to Johnny Cash and suddenly needed to draw some people with an old truck. And then I remembered that there was a summer-themed Silver Eye fanart contest going, and I had just read Silver Eye for the second and third time, the third time along with eightcrows , who said something really satisfying to my hope that she'd like it:

You see, some years back, when we were first seeing fanart of Game of Thrones, with the white-haired chick being all ethereal, it gave the impression of being this awesome epic fantasy, magical yet political, with noble characters, and she really wanted to get into something like that. But of course when we found out (while never reading or watching it, thank you very much) what it's really like, that was quite a disappointment.

So now, just recently, I get her to read Silver Eye, and she said, "It's like how I imagined Game of Thrones. But also funny!"

So yeah.

Anyway, an all-American summer roadtrip AU where they're taking a truck across the Deadlands. And Apen hadn't cut his hair, because we like it better.
