Like Dr. Who, (which is interesting since they're quite referentially connected) it just got really, really intrusively preachy of the sacred Politically Correct LGBT Narrative. Also very deconstructive. And ruined my favorite characters (like the guy in the lower left), at least seemingly at the point where I stopped. I still feel like I should finish it someday, but going by the reactions of people I know who did finish it, the ending in no way lives up to the incredible, medium-revolutionizing creativity of the early parts.

Ouch, yeah. Homestuck is a prime example of a pretty good work degenerating into unreadable SJW slime (well, unreadable unless you're from the stereotypical Tumblr crowd that only cares about getting one's fill of sugary yaoi/yuri lovestories.) Which is a pity, really.
